Breaking news-Pac Man allowed to participate in OTAs

If you were a cop you could easily extort money from Pacman now. One arrest, even if dismissed, will get him banned.

Jerry has an ex-cop on his security detail and keeping an eye on Pac is his top priority.

If I was willing to go to the lengths of extorting money from someone, I'd do it from someone that has a little more cash on hand.

Dude's broke.

Stewart's take on Pacman Jones

Albert Breer E-mail News tips
Defensive coordinator Brian Stewart thinks the timing of Pacman Jones's reinstatement will give the corner a big edge, because it's happening now, rather than just before training camp.

The Cowboys have two weeks of OTAs left, then a three-day full-squad minicamp from June 17-19.

"This will be a huge advantage for him, he gets a chance to learn the defense now and then go through it again when he gets to training camp," defensive coordinator Brian Stewart said. "By then, he'll be able to do some fine tuning on the little things, because he'll already be familiar with the defense. He won't know it as well as the veteran corners, but by then, it'll be the second time around for him."

As for the player, Stewart has a pretty good idea what he's getting.

"I know he's impact player, and he has been for some time," Stewart said. "He's got good ball skills, good return skills, and every time he gets the ball on hands, he can make something happen. I'm excited to get another guy with those types of ball skills on the field."

This is the best that Pacman, the Cowboys, and any of us could have hoped for.

He's been given the opportunity to revive his career and get back on track.

He's also been told that it's his last opportunity.

My sources also tell me he will not, I repeat, NOT, be suspended for the first two games this year.

Great news.

NFL REINSTATES PACMAN, SORT OF
Posted by Mike Florio on June 2, 2008, 5:44 p.m.
Cowboys cornerback Pacman Jones has received permission from the NFL to participate in offseason workouts, training camp, and the preseason. However, he has not yet been reinstated to participate in regular-season games.

The NFL said as follows, via a statement: “In a letter to Jones, Commissioner Goodell wrote that a final determination on his reinstatement for the 2008 regular season will be made by September 1. Commissioner Goodell told Jones that his continued participation in the NFL depends on demonstrating that he can conduct himself in a lawful and reliable manner. Jones will be expected to continue the personal conduct program established for him by the NFL and the Cowboys and to avoid further adverse involvement with law enforcement.”

In other words, if Jones stays out of trouble between now and September 1, he’ll be permitted to participate in regular-season games. This halfway-house-type move makes sense; if Pacman gets in trouble again, he simply doesn’t get back in — and the league doesn’t look foolish for taking a chance on him prematurely.

There’s also a belief in some league circles that Pacman’s presence on the team owned by Jerry Jones helped grease the skids for Pacman’s return. Commissioner Roger Goodell reports to the 32 NFL owners, and few have as much juice as Jerry Jones.

but but but...Floriturd said Goodell was unhappy with the Vegas stuff and A Jones...I could have swore he was intimating Jones wouldnt be seeing the field...couple days later, boom...Jones is allowed to practice, go to training camp and play in preseason games...guess Goodell wasnt quite as "unhappy" as Floriturd suggested

another shining example of the Daily Turd in action
