Some of you guys need to take a damn chill pill. Were we sloppy? Hell Yes. Can we get better? Hell Yes. All i've read is people complaining. We usually lose those types of games and managed to win a ugly game that should have been sealed in the first half. Relax, this team will get better and the pass defense will too. It's only game 1 and I sure as hell am not going to moan over a win.

As a TLH Writer and former member here said on Twitter this morning...

Did not the New York Giants need Dez's pinkie to land out of bounds to save their own six turnover win? Anyone else see the double standard?

Why yes, yes I do.

Yep, last season no one cared about the way Dallas fought it was you either win or you lose. After this game the same old people come here complaining and it seems winning was not as important.

Most are looking at the big picture knowing if it takes several takeaways each week to stop opposing offenses the Cowboys are going to be in trouble. You can't count on 6 takeaways every week. Minus the takeaways the defense looked like the same defense we've been seeing the past few seasons with wide open receivers and busted coverages. The defense gave up 7 pass plays of over 20 yards. Elite QB's are going to shred the defense for 300+ yards and several TD's if we don't learn how to cover. Although the Giants lost they have to be feeling pretty good they only lost by 5 points and had a chance to win in the end having committed 6 turnovers with 2 defensive scores against them. They probably figured they would have easily won without all the bad breaks. The only thing that stopped their offense was themselves. They can fix the turnover problems but I'm not so sure the Cowboys can fix their pass coverage when we keep seeing the same coverage issues every season.

The other Manning brother may put up over 500 yards and another 7 TD's in a few weeks if the Cowboys don't figure out how to defend the pass. I'm happy for the win last week and am encouraged that we're forcing turnovers but the Cowboys still have some issues they need to address. They only got 3 points from the first 3 turnovers and committed another redzone penalty immediately after getting the first turnover that helped result in only coming away with 3 points. Glad to see Garrett touched on all this during his PC yesterday even though the Cowboys won he recognizes there's plenty of things that have to be corrected. Good teams show resilience and don't give up we saw that with the Giants, Commanders and Texans. No lead is safe in todays game and the Cowboys have to learn to put the opponent away when they have the opportunity.

the giants need passes to lodge into facemasks to win championships. they need opposing coaches to ice their own kickers to even qualify for playoffs.

the giants fan base is delusional. They actually think they played well outside of the turnovers.

I don't think that is the case that we will need 6 take aways a game to win. Offense is still capable on this night defense came up big. Big picture is it is 1 game not the season, I'm sure NE is much better than Buff but on Sunday it took a last second FG to pull it out. Bottom line Dallas is 1-0 and still much work to be done.

Only a fool would count on 6 takeaways every week. It's football. Every week there are games like this. The only thing that matters is the win. That is the big picture, not the macroscopic prophecies of doom because a team did or didn't do one certain thing in a game. 15 other teams won games this week without 6 takeaways. It can be done.

I would take all that "luck" too if it meant the Cowboys won a championship. At least the Giant fan base is remaining positive about their team, maybe thats been the problem the last 17 years with the Cowboys, too many negative thoughts not enough positive, bad karma!

If positive thoughts mattered, the Commanders would have 20 superbowls by now.

With 6 takeaways the offense only came up with 3 points off the first 3 that's not acceptable. If the defense keeps getting chewed up through the air they're going to need several takeaways each week to win games. The only thing that got the Giants offense off the field was the turnovers. They were their own worst enemy. The Cowboys should have won in a blowout with 6 takeaways and 2 defensive scores. It's the mediocre teams that can't handle big leads we saw that with the Cowboys, Eagles and Chargers. The Cowboys and Eagles were lucky to escape not so for the Chargers. The Cowboys still have a ways to go to be a good team. Had NE forced 6 turnovers and scored 2 defensive scores they would have buried the Bills. Buffalo looks like they've improved and NE doesn't look as good with the loss of Welker and several other players. The Cowboys are a puzzling team. I don't know how any team could only win by 5 points with 6 takeaways and 2 defensive scores especially at home.

As for the Cowboys offense it didn't look all that great they only managed 330 yards with all the extra opportunities they got from the takeaways. The only thing I was pleased with on Sunday was the takeaways and thought the OL played pretty well. Other than that the Cowboys have issues that have to be corrected or they'll hover around 500 again. They have to face Eli again in NY along with Peyton, Brees, Rivers, Cutler and Rodgers. Philly won't be a pushover with their fast paced offense and in another month when the Cowboys face Washington RG3 should be back in the groove. What I saw on Sunday from the Cowboys isn't going to get it done this season unless they can come up with several takeaways each week.

If , if , if. It is one game there were several played and many mistakes around the league. Yards do not mean a damn thing hell Dallas has outgained teams and lost and what do we hear? if you don't win it don't matter. Dallas won, yes things they need to do better and you will find in every game there are things you will come away thinking we need to do better. As for other teams we play I don't take any game the Cowboys play lightly what I do expect is the Cowboys to continue to build on the positives and work on the negitives.

The offensive scheme is still going to be our downfall. Especially late in the year in road games.

Hopefully we can get hot and make the playoffs with a bye and a home game and limit taking this offense and all of it's audibling on the road.

We need a run game too for this to work as well.

Otherwise our season will end with a team playing the same scheme like the Giants did and Dallas having to force passes into coverage and Romo looking like the biggest choker that there ever was because of a terrible scheme.

The big picture is the Cowboys aren't going to win 10 games which is probably what they'll need to make the playoffs if the pass defense doesn't vastly improve. They have several elite QB's they'll be facing in the coming weeks that will chew the defense up if we keep seeing busted coverages and receivers running wide open. 15 other teams may have won this past week without 6 takeaways but the Cowboys needed every takeaway plus 2 defensive scores to eek out the win. That should have been an easy win for the Cowboys last week.

Yards don't mean anything but when they lead to 4 TD passes they do mean something. Bending is one thing but breaking is another.
