Some of you guys need to take a damn chill pill. Were we sloppy? Hell Yes. Can we get better? Hell Yes. All i've read is people complaining. We usually lose those types of games and managed to win a ugly game that should have been sealed in the first half. Relax, this team will get better and the pass defense will too. It's only game 1 and I sure as hell am not going to moan over a win.

We won?

This means Panic right?

Yards don't mean anything but when they lead to 4 TD passes they do mean something. Bending is one thing but breaking is another.

I agree. Defense needs to do a better job even Kiffin and garrett have said this. Turnovers are great but we gave up too many big plays and 4 TD. Again this team still has work to do but some of the attitude around here is almost as if Dallas lost. They didn't. They played an important game vs a divisionl foe and got the job done.

Read every word. All I heard after the 1st silly sentence was blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

All I hear from you is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah every time someone speaks the truth.

Whose truth? There are a lot of exaggerated statements around here. Was the game perfect? NO and next week’s game will not be perfect but it is the teams and coaches job to find ways to win and to work on improving as a team. Some wins will not be pretty but they still beat the hell out of losing

Most are looking at the big picture knowing if it takes several takeaways each week to stop opposing offenses the Cowboys are going to be in trouble. You can't count on 6 takeaways every week. Minus the takeaways the defense looked like the same defense we've been seeing the past few seasons with wide open receivers and busted coverages. The defense gave up 7 pass plays of over 20 yards. Elite QB's are going to shred the defense for 300+ yards and several TD's if we don't learn how to cover. Although the Giants lost they have to be feeling pretty good they only lost by 5 points and had a chance to win in the end having committed 6 turnovers with 2 defensive scores against them. They probably figured they would have easily won without all the bad breaks. The only thing that stopped their offense was themselves. They can fix the turnover problems but I'm not so sure the Cowboys can fix their pass coverage when we keep seeing the same coverage issues every season.

The other Manning brother may put up over 500 yards and another 7 TD's in a few weeks if the Cowboys don't figure out how to defend the pass. I'm happy for the win last week and am encouraged that we're forcing turnovers but the Cowboys still have some issues they need to address. They only got 3 points from the first 3 turnovers and committed another redzone penalty immediately after getting the first turnover that helped result in only coming away with 3 points. Glad to see Garrett touched on all this during his PC yesterday even though the Cowboys won he recognizes there's plenty of things that have to be corrected. Good teams show resilience and don't give up we saw that with the Giants, Commanders and Texans. No lead is safe in todays game and the Cowboys have to learn to put the opponent away when they have the opportunity.

The earth is round.

The point I'm making it's not the yards it's the TD's. Yards don't mean anything unless they lead to points and the Giants yards were leading to TD's. They could have put up a TD on practically every drive had they not stopped themselves with turnovers. With the caliber of QB's the Cowboys will be facing in the coming weeks they can't afford to keep busting coverages and allowing receivers to run free. Last season the Cutler to Marshall combo ate the Cowboys up and they'll be facing that combo again later this season in Chicago.

You have Peyton and the Broncos coming up in a few weeks along with the Packers and Rodgers. We have Brees who put up almost 450 yards last season coming up again this season. There's the potential for real problems if the pass coverage doesn't improve. If the Cowboys start getting behind it takes them away from the running game and puts the game on Romo's shoulders. This is what the Cowboys are trying to avoid.

With 6 takeaways the offense only came up with 3 points off the first 3 that's not acceptable.
I'm getting tired of hearing this one. We got 21 points off the other 3 takeaways, but nobody mentions that. Six takeaways, 24 points off. That's actually pretty good.

We recovered the first takeaway at the Giants 15. Yeah, would have been nice to punch it in, but we didn't.
We recovered the second takeaway at our own 7. We shouldn't expect points from that one: we took points away from them.
After the third one, we drove down the field and had our only turnover of the night. So we traded turnovers there: that's why the TO margin was only +5, not +6. Is it somehow worse that our turnove happened to come on a drive that started with a takeaway?

He wouldn't know truth if it jumped up and bit him in the buns. How he managed "over 8 million followers" is curious given the list of people who have over that many.

They could have put up a TD on practically every drive had they not stopped themselves with turnovers they were moving the ball with ease. With the caliber of QB's the Cowboys will be facing in the coming weeks they can't afford to keep busting coverages and allowing receivers to run free. I think dallas had something to do with the turnovers, it was not the giants alone. Tampa 2 is not a shut down defense it will give up yards it also will create turnovers. I agree too many big plays were allowed and that is something the Cowboys will have to continue to work on but this BS sky is falling and the season is done view point is lame.

You're going to start with the personal attacks now? Go back to lurking! You don't know what the truth is because you're too much of a FAN which is why you're wrong about the team every year.

Some have come in here acting like that, that is not a spin. Dallas had a big game to open the season and they got the job done. No doubt they have a lot of work to do and while there were negitives there were a lot of positives in the game, in the end the Cowboys won

In case some haven't noticed, every game in the NFL is different.

In some games we'll force turnovers, in some we won't; some games our defense will give up many pass yards, some games they wont; some games our offense will be clicking, some games it won't. People act like you can watch one game and extrapolate the whole season.

In the end the only stat that matters is win-loss.
