Will he be a head coach somewhere next year or an O-coordinator for us ?? He worked with Ray Sherman in minny when minny had good if not great Offenses. Just a thought if Garrett does indeed leave.

Are you nuts? Guy had one great year as a coordinator in 98.

Gawd no. One of the most overrated coaches of our time, and an arrogant jerk to boot.

No-Sherman REPLACED Billick when we went on to Baltimore in '99(RS was in SD and Pitt at the time BB was in Minny).

With that being said-nah, no way-Billick just happened to have Randy Moss fall in his lap in that incredible 15-1 season. Before that, he was only an above average coordinator. Other than that, he never "fixed" the O in Baltimore.

He coaches a pretty different scheme from what we use now and have used for the past few years. Not to mention that he had one really, really good offense...in Minnesota in '98...when they had a rookie, motivated Randy Moss, Chris Carter, Jake Reed, Robert Smith, Randall Cunningham, and a very good O-Line. Other than that, most of his offenses have been average at best.

I agree he is an arrogant jerk but he does have a super bowl on his resume.

via Ozzie Newsome's defense

don't want to say Marvin Lewis, because Ozzie put it together, and we've seen Marvin's D w/ his players in Cincy

Not due to his prowess as an offensive coordinator.

I agree he won in Baltimore because of the defense and certainly not the offense, but he also won in minny because of Randy Moss which is similar to Garrett winning in Dallas because of TO and Romo. just my humble opinion.

I dont think that they are similar at all.

Billick's gameplan... chuck it deep to Moss. Thats it.

Garrett has some great plays drawn up.... much more creative than Billick.

I'm sorry, I should have made my point clearer which is Garrett isn't going to look so smart when he doesn't have TO and ROMO just like billick didn't have nearly as good of offenses when he no longer had Randy Moss and Jake reed and chris carter

Actually... you were pretty clear... I understood. I get your point.

I STILL give Garrett an edge if I had to put them up against each other as OC's.

What was that movie... The Italian Job - "you are right... he has no imagination" = Billick

Billick is a genius in his own mind. His Super Bowl team won a championship with one of the greatest defensive units of all-time. He's been guilty of trying to remake the likes of Tony Banks, Elvis Grbac and Kyle Boller into franchise quarterbacks for the simple reason that he believes he's an offensive guru. With the defense the Ravens had, Trent Dilfer as quarterback was the best thing to ever happen to him and he ran him out of town. His ego is beyond comprehension. He called a totally unnecessary timeout which could've ended the Patriots perfect regular season. I can only pray that Jones avoids him at all costs.
