He is limited to the type of kids he can recruit due to the high academic standards at the school. He tried for a few years to get ND to drop their standards so that he could get the type of athletes to compete with the Bamas of the college football world. But he has done a great job at ND, look at his record.

You made some good points concerning his attributes, but the chewing out of players won’t work in the NFL.

In college these players know that they are auditioning for the NFL so they take the chewing out but once they make it to the NFL that threat no longer exists. Having said that I’m fine with anybody but the current coach here

I'm a ND fan, and i would rather stick with Garrett then see Kelly as the Cowboys HC or anything Cowboys for that matter. This guy can turn a team like the Browns into a limited playoff team, but you will most likley never win big games (SB's). If your goal is to win SB's, well you should look in a different direction.

I am not exaggerating. His record against Top Ten teams at ND is woeful.

EDIT: He’s slightly better than I said. He’s 3-7 against Top Ten teams and 0-5 against Top 5 teams.
