It is his job to say and think that. We will see if they head in the right direction starting with what they do in FA.
:hammer:

I don't think people around here understand what hyperbole is somebody who's excited that's saying what he envisions this to happen he's not guaranteeing it will happen when someone uses the word believes that's just a personal statement that in his mind that's the goal and he believes they can achieve it but people get better shape like it was a guarantee no it was not put in three ends headlines that they're gonna go to the NFC championship game this year it wasn't a guarantee it was just a statement people like 17 Brian schottenheimer headlines on the front page they could all be in one thread but now everybody needs to have their own say..:oldcouple::popcorn:

He's another Dave Campo.
That couldn't be farther from the truth but thanks for the input I don't remember Dave Campbell being part of a Seattle team with Russell Wilson having 4 great years as a coordinator as far as working directly with the quarterback that put up like 101 touchdowns and only 25 interceptions they were winning games I mean this team has a better core than what Dave campo had this is not even close you guys with the crazy throwing up against the wall statements as if we're going to be like A2 win team next year is insane first of all we won seven games last year with a mass unit we nearly beat Washington twice with backups and a matter of fact everyone thinking that the eagles in Washington are the shining group now and we've been bumped down the 3rd or 4th just weren't paying attention injury Riddle season the most injuries to major key positions in the entire NFL were with the Dallas Cowboys they got the pad their stats against cupcakes because they met our backups not our starters..

If we have half the injuries we had last year and our quarterback is still standing we will be a lot better than you think I don't know where we're gonna be but we're not in the Dave Camp all years not even close it won't be anywhere near that unless we have another season with 18 major injuries we got wiped out in a bunch of positions and you guys act like that the eagles in Washington dominated the Dallas Cowboys no they dominated our practice squad our backups are you guys don't understand that I can't help you...

Oh let me add to this if you think Ben Johnson Aaron Glenn Cohen or any of these other names that'll be thrown around first time head coaches have a better shot you do realize they're not bringing those rosters they're not bringing the support of the other coaching staff that they worked with they literally started from scratch on bad teams you think they have a better shot then here like their success is because of their name have you not seen guys like Nick Saban Bobby Petrino, Urban Meyer which by the way everybody wanted here and guys like Chip Kelly and there's other names that were made coordinators of the month and then made head coaches and they failed they were all better coordinators than they were head coaches..

So, everything you're saying about Schottenheimer holds true for all these other new first time head coaches...

they're all going to be on equal footing until they all prove they can handle their new positions ,build their new teams ,we've seen the failures..

There are so many more failures it'd be easier to try to find the successes when this has happened when guys have been told they were the best I mean the best thing going around right now is Bobby slowing he and Ben Johnson last year were two of the hottest names and now Bobby slick got fired he went from flavor of the month to jobless and I'm sure he'll get another job but this is overrating this group because you think they're all better than Schottenheimer only in name..

but that's all they are they're a hot name they were elevated by rumor because they were on teams that had an all in philosophy gave them all the firepower they needed to be successful which by the way I find that no one brings this up look at the holes they left look at the lions..

AS a matter fact I don't even know any of the names of any of the replacements that are being put on these other teams in place of these coordinators that were taken and made first time head coaches those teams if we used the perspective from you guys who think Schottenheimer is a bad hire and that he's dating campo that means these teams are gonna fall off a Cliff I mean they're gonna meltdown and blow up because they're putting no names in those positions they're putting first time elevated coordinators in those positions that means they're destined to have Dave campo type years they're in trouble they're all in trouble LOL

Brian Schottenheimer believes Cowboys can win 'quickly'
Todd Archer
Jan 27, 2025

FRISCO, Texas -- As Brian Schottenheimer walked to the stage to be introduced as the 10th coach in the history of the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, he passed five replica Super Bowl trophies that serve as a reminder of the franchise's past.

Twenty-nine years have passed since the Cowboys' last appearance in a Super Bowl or NFC Championship Game, which is the longest drought in the conference, but Schottenheimer told ESPN that they are a team that can win "quickly."

"The objective and the main thing is we want to win the Super Bowl," Schottenheimer said.

LOL!
I don't think Vince Lombardi could win quickly with this rag tag group of misfit players.
We have a handful of marque super stars and a whole lot of jags on this team.

They know how to win, they just enjoy making money and being comfortable a lot more. I think the money is about to start drying up unless they actually get serious about Fielding a competitive team. People have had enough.
One can only hope Allen!
You cant fool all the people all the time!

Why do the Cowboys seem to get off on telling everyone they "want to win a Super Bowl"? Every team wants to win the Super Bowl and that is the goal for every team. When you talk about it so much, that just means you can't get there and are dreaming. Stop dreaming and start doing what it takes. Otherwise, shut the hell up about it. We're sick of hearing it.

Well it's supposed to be a 3rd place schedule but the fact that they play the AFC West and NFC North in addition to division rivals makes me a little skeptical of winning quickly next season.
Still the same QB.
So call me just a little bit skeptical.
LOL

People are LIVID! Almost every comment I see on Facebook, youtube, and Instagram someone is bashing Jerry saying he's not serious about winning, he hires nothing but puppets, sell the team, nothing will ever change, the same thing on and on. People are waking up.

a healthy roster could win 10 games...maybe 11.

super bowl...no.
but win the division/make the play-offs...yes...thats all this gm is capable of building.

I think a lot will depend on how this OL comes together. Dallas had 2 rookies starting Beebe and Guyton, while I think Beebe did a good job Guyton was overwhelmed and this offseason will be big for Guyton. Steele I think will be gone, I also think Martin will retire based on things I have read. I think TJ Bass did a good job and showed up especially in the run game where Cowboys were able to get a run game going in 2nd half of the season. I really hope to see Jeanty added in the draft at RB, I think his big play ability would benefit this OL and this team

They COULD contend but they need to actually participate in free agency…and not to the effect of who is still hanging around after camp is over.

I really don’t think they will. It’s never “worth it.”

Just keep losing.

Did Jerry have his hand up the back of Shotty's shirt and who's mouth was moving?

CowboysZone DIEHARD Fan
Look, I can’t bash this guy for taking the position. Any of us would. It’s the Dallas Cowboys for crying out loud. But the reality is this guy has a 28 year history of mediocre. Par for the course, he’s not gonna do anything dramatic with the Cowboys. He’s gonna play it safe, He’s not gonna light a fire under anyone, and the Cowboys are going to spend the next few years just going through the motions. Trying to reach 500. I am still in total shock with this move by Jerry. I mean, I know Jerry’s in decline , and he’s reaching into the twilight zone of his life, but I didn’t expect this.
Let's be honest about the league too,,, the vast majority of the teams either suck or they're "okay but fatally flawed". Much of this is due to the league being watered down at key position groups and the fact that most teams don't feel the need to go the extra mile, it's too much effort to get into the contender tier when they can just give a moderate effort and periodically make the playoffs instead. The point being that most of these coaches don't have a front office willing to provide what is needed, they're set up to fail.

I sure hope so,
Until fans hit Jerry in the wallet he has little reason to change.
