There might be more to playing OLine in the NFL than weight room strength.

While I like to hear about him being impressive in the weight room, I think I am more concerned about his leg strength, footwork and stamina.

Lol, why is there always one of these guys?

"The History of my bench press - By Don Corleone"

There is always one of these guys, usually a few of them around during combine time. Complaining that a certain lineman is to weak because he only did 18 reps of 225, but he (the guy sitting at his computer) did 15 one time.

The story mentions nothing about him maxing out, just states how easily he tossed around 400 something pounds. Someone warming up with 315 is no joke. An expert such as you, Don C, should know this.

Just looking forward to Waters upgrading our line, he will get better each week as he rounds into shape.

Certainly there's more to OL play than bench press strength. I'd bet money Phil Costa has one of the best benches on the team and I wouldn't want him anywhere near the field in a meaningful game.

Agree, Costa should be in the stands holding hands with the Hulk's daughter:p.

Bench press is great, but show me what the guy squats. Having a strong base is more important to an OL in my opinion.

One thing I found odd was he doesn't appear to bend and get in a stance he basically stands wonder if he has flexibility issues but he certainly is not lacking in strength so I guess it's not an issue

What's great is his awareness and calmness he's always looking around seeing where he can help but not in a frenetic fashion just calmly moving around

Jerry Jones: Brian Waters ready to take every snap; Anthony Spencer ‘real close to right’
Dallas Cowboys veteran guard Brian Waters split time with Mackenzy Bernadeau at right guard last week in Kansas City but Jerry Jones says the 36-year-old is ready to get all of the snaps at that position Sunday against St. Louis.

“I think he’s starting to get in the area of physical shape that he wants to be in,” Jones said Friday on the G-Bag Nation show on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “He certainly has played just really good. And he can help us if he does.”

Just hope Waters is ready to pass block and open some holes against the Rams.
