Brian Waters would be as vital as Melton

Time to move on from Waters, draft an OG to get ready to play soon. I'm ok with keeping the OL the same going into this year. But we need depth and a few eventual starters in a few years.

Agreed. A good, developmental guard is needed– taken somewhere in the first 3 rounds.

The biggest issue that they have zero depth at OG.

When we are on the clock, if the highest rated player on our board at 16 is a C/OG you take him and finish the draft on defense with a OT thrown in somewhere.

one thing to consider is waters was'nt what he is today, or when he finished, when he started. it takes time to develope guys and waters is a prime example of a guy who took time to develope. when he did he was a great one but leary has one year and was as good last year as waters was his first year. does'nt mean he will ever reach what waters does but you only find out if they play

Notice how I never said give up on Leary... Hell, I have him in the starting lineup in 2015... I feel as though people only read what they want to read...

If Donald and Jerrnigan are gone, draft Martin.

What about any of the top 3 LB's or the top 2 safeties? How about a DE like Kony Ealy?

After signing Melton DT isn't that pressing of a need anymore. I actually think DE is more of one. We have nice depth players there in Selvie and Mincey but nobody the opposition has to specifically game plan for.

You still go Martin knowing this, with these players still on the board?

Well, Melton plays a different position than the other tackle. They have different responsibilities.

I'd like to shore up the offensive line for good.

So would I, but we could get better players at positions of need with our 1st rounder.

We're in very vulnerable shape at DE, LB and safety. More vulnerable than OL at this point. There are also young and very serviceable FA lineman available.

2nd or 3rd round for the right guy and all for it, but we need to build this defense up with at least 2 more starters from this draft.

The talent drop off at Safety, DE and LB is substantial at these positions after the 1st round.

Fortunately for us, this draft is very deep on both sides of the line minus DE.

Also, Melton plays the 3 tech. Donald would have been drafted for a 3 tech, which we already filled now that we have Melton.
