Bring in Chucky

I'm as mad as everyone else, but we need to be realistic here. The guy has been a head coach not even two full seasons. I was very pleased last week how he stuck with the running game and this gives me a lot of hope looking forward.

This guy may turn out to be a great head coach one day. There's a learning curve for everyone. Yes, he needs to work on clock management and discipline, but some of the players on this team aren't the brightest either.

Garrett is a great coach, and if you dont believe me ask jerry and some other poster in here.

Gruden would be a great hire, sadly jerry's ego won't allow it to happen

I could be wrong here, it wouldn't be the first time. My thinking is that Gruden and Cowher will never coach again. As we know, coaching takes a lot out of you with the massive amount of time that's put into that profession. I think with the very cushy and rewarding occupation that they both have now, they will not return to coaching.

I would love chuckyhttp://*************/a/img641/4632/54094611.jpghttp://*************/a/img641/4632/54094611.jpg

Would Chucky get more than 2 years before people complained about him as well? :laugh2:

Wouldn't need it.

Seriously, I just want progress, and this isn't it. the way Chucky is going nuts in the booth, he needs a return to coaching soon, hope it's us. Oh yea, he'd handle Jerry.:D

If you want Garrett to be replaced then so be it but i don't know about bringing in a guy thats been out of football for what would be 5 years.

Dick Vermeil was out for 15 years, so it can work. I'm not sure if I'd want Gruden here either, though.

Tony Dungy built the team Gruden took to the Super Bowl. Oh and the team Gruden beat happened to be the same team Gruden came from a year prior. He knew everything Callahan was going to do before Callahan did. That was the easiest coaching job in SB history.

So a team he built and a team he coached both made it to the Super Bowl. And that's somehow not an incredibly impressive feat.

Holy crap.

Sorry, Gruden is no better than Switzer. He inherited a team someone else built, held it together for a year then slowly drove it into the ground.

TB may have been built by Dungy but Dungy never took that team close to a SB. Chucky actually took TWO teams to the SB that year, Bucks and the Raiders.

Gruden built that Raiders team into a legit SB contender and he would have had that Raiders team in the SB sooner if not for the famous tuck rule that started the Pats dynasty.

Not saying Chucky is NOT overrated, only that he is better than you portray him.

Lol, seriously! I haven't given up on Garrett yet, but if this team doesn't cut out the mental mistakes and has another poor year, you can bet I'll be crying for Gruden. He's an awesome coach. Someone you want to go to war with.

In 90 years of NFL history, there has been exactly one coach who has won a championship with one team and then later won a second championship with another team.

Why is that? I have no idea. It doesn't make much sense. But it is what it is.

After the Raven's fiasco, it is time to say goodbye to Jason Garrett. Time after time, he's shown that he has no clue how to manage the clock, or inspire his troops. Send Decamillas packing with him.

If I were running the team, I would be on the next plane to John Gruden's place, or wherever the next MNF game is going to be played & offer him double what he's making for 5 years. Just watching him as a coach & competitor, along with his interviews of QBs before each of the last few drafts, I would love for him to represent the Cowboys.

Gruden makes ME want to run through walls, & I'm 57! He can challenge & inspire at the same time. If he owns a watch, he can manage the clock better than Garrett. Most of all, he would bring back the intensity that has been missing in Dallas, especially at the QB position. Chuuckee! Chuuckee!

After winning the SB in his 1st year in Tampa, he then led the Bucs to 3 losing seasons in the next 4 years.

Remember, he was an offensive guy, and in his days with Tampa, their offense was pure fecal matter. They had one of the top defenses in the league, no doubt, but he could never build an offense that could even compliment the defense, much less carry a team.

I can see why he gets love as a HC prospect, but I am in awe of the amount of love he gets. His is definitely overhyped, overvalued, and overrated.

Totally agree with this O.P and to many around here have their head in the sand and are fan boys of useless HC's unable to see our weakness's and just jump on posters with an opinion that differs from the majority.

Never in my whole life supporting this team and it is over 30 years now have i seen 2 such inept HC's in Wade and Garrett lead us and the sacking of Wade for JG was like replacing the blind puppet with Stevie Wonder.

Chucky is the exact sort of coach this team needs with a no BS approach to coaching that walked out the door when Johnson left and has never re entered. Some may argue Parcells was this sort of HC but in all honesty he was washed up when JJ lured him out of retirement and the rest is history.
