This has to be the only franchise around that sits around during F.A. speculating about swing tackles.

Here is a clue. If you waste a 3rd round pick on a swing tackle it should be solved.

It came out later that his hip was a big part of the problem. I don't expect him to ever stay healthy but I don't think he just gave up.

The coaches failed by not giving him help.

Because we, quite sensibly, don't want to buy players at bad prices. Good, established players in early free agency are the worst deal in the league.

We have to exclusively build through the draft so in 2-3 years we will be better. Of course, more holes would have been created that we need to draft for and we will continue to remain 1-2 years away from competing for a title. We don’t need free agent progress stoppers that may give us an immediate bump. We can’t take away our “no talent” excuse for our coaches. They might have to actually win something to their jobs.
