I can candidly say that if the Cowboys were to make the Super Bowl without going through San Francisco, I wouldn't feel cheated.

Suit yourself. I am a Texas Rangers’ fan. Winning the World Series was definitely the ultimate goal, but I would be lying if I said I would have been just as satisfied had they not beaten Houston to win the pennant before the Series.

No offense pal, this is Dak’s 8th season in the league and 4th with McCarthy. If they are not built to win now-it’s unlikely ever going to happen. Teams are not guaranteed to pick up right where they left off the previous season, and this is not a team building with a QB on a rookie contract.
I understand that perfectly well, and no offense taken.

My estimation is that this team is NOT built to “win now” - in terms of realistically hoisting a Lombardi Trophy. Not against SF on the road, and certainly not against the Ravens (you saw what they did to Miami today?) in a fantasy Super Bowl pairing.

None of us have any control over what's going to happen and who we're going to play.
We're in the post-season. That means we have a chance.
So, just sit back and enjoy or rue the ride.
Now ... HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS!!!!!!!
My kids keep on telling me that when yell at the TV for bone headed play by Cowboys player. They tell me I don’t think they can hear you, lol

That may be. Which to me would mean the team is not built to truly contend with the core assembled. Teams will get better within the conference (maybe much better). Getting two home games is basically as good as any team can hope for. And having only two teams that look better is likely another best case scenario with the current squad.

No way guys. It’s a rite of passage. The Cowboys were not supposed to win that 1992 NFCCG game. I can not be fully satisfied this postseason without seeing the Cowboys facing and defeating those demons.

Praying to face other teams is pretty weak. They represent the biggest challenge no matter how the game turns out. Becoming a true contender and champion means beating a great team (and there are none greater in the NFC this season).
I'm with you reindeer games. We didn't quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, so let's repeat 92!

I see no team in the weak NFC that is definitely a clear favorite over the Cowboys except that team (if healthy). I want the Cowboys to play SF when SF is healthy and playing their best ball. That win would be most satisfying win in a long time (not just pay back but big game significance).

Thankfully, SF does not have a Montana/Young type QB to actually be a Super team - just the best the NFC has to offer this year. I want an epic battle like the 1992 NFCCG for the team to graduate to NFC Super Bowl representative (both offense, defense, and special teams playing great).
No.
Don't bring on armeggedon.
Let us hope the Lions somehow derail them.

Against Shanahan and the 49ers defense, the Cowboys lose the chess match of game plans. I don't trust McCarthy and Quinn yet to figure out how to craft specific plays to exploit the Niners' weaknesses.

So then the Cowboys would HAVE to win in the trenches on both sides of the ball, minimizing Dak's need to make a bunch of plays with his feet (broken plays where Dak escapes). MAYBE this could happen with a really good offensive gameplan, and with Hankins back on defense. Still a bit of long shot.

So then all the Cowboys have left is Dak and CeeDee exploding for HUGE games in spite of everything else. And the defense would simply need to punch the ball out a few times and/or get a few INTs, which could happen. Basically, the DBs and safeties would need to jump a lot of routes....and the Cowboys would need to punch at the ball on every play.

Basically, it's going to be a real challenge for this Cowboys team to travel to San Fran, and be hyped and prepared enough to shock the world and beat them in their own place. We can dream, but let's be honest, we just haven't seen it. They would have to do something that we simply haven't seen yet.

But... Go Cowboys! Hec, I think this team is actually overachieving this season, because I think this roster is a tad bit overrated (especially both the offensive and defensive lines...I don't care what the PFF stats and rankings are). But I think the Cowboys roster is perennially overrated most seasons. The Jerry Hype Machine is a real thing. LOL

One game at a time. Gotta focus on beating the Commodes again and then focus on playoff football. I still think the Cowboys get to the NFCCG and have the potential to get to the SB. The way the Ravens are playing is impressive. Can't really anyone beating them but you never know.

It’s evident who the two “best” teams are. It remains to be seen who the two “luckiest” teams are. I’ve always preferred to be lucky, than good.

Yep, it's beat SF or bust pretty much.
This will be our 3rd attempt to beat these guys in the playoffs and if they fail once again please find some players who can as these guys (as proven in the recent past) are only able to beat dog teams in our house pretty much.
I expect us to be there as the NFC is dog city with the only exception being the Niners and maybe the Lions with a grain of salt as their coach leaves many points out there.
Now or never..........

You don't have a clue beyond attitude...In service I heard every word possible and in multiple language. Really impressive...soda pop kid. You are now where a step beyond a coward's holding and expanded your stance there. So? kick my butt with those non-ending cowards'...WORDS. Snotlaw.

I don't have a problem using real words...Waltons spelled backwards.

Trying to relate with really 'bad' anger...run along now
