Irrational exuberance from fans that have not seen us in a position to sniff the Super Bowl in about 30 years is always entertaining. For those of us that have seen the good years and now the lean years have set our expectations much lower.

I am hoping for 1 playoff win, if we end up in the NFC CG I would be beyond satisfied.

All this being said, our offense has been MIA the last 3 games and our defense can’t stop the run so I am just hoping for a win next week.

It’s evident who the two “best” teams are. It remains to be seen who the two “luckiest” teams are. I’ve always preferred to be lucky, than good.
Fortune favors everyone. I don’t think I have ever witnessed a Super Bowl winning team that did not have to make special drives or stop them on the way to a championship.

It’s best to be good and take advantage of the fortune that does come your way. Lots of people forget the past fortune in a game when fortune favors one team in a climatic moment in a tight game.

I see no team in the weak NFC that is definitely a clear favorite over the Cowboys except that team (if healthy). I want the Cowboys to play SF when SF is healthy and playing their best ball. That win would be most satisfying win in a long time (not just pay back but big game significance).

Thankfully, SF does not have a Montana/Young type QB to actually be a Super team - just the best the NFC has to offer this year. I want an epic battle like the 1992 NFCCG for the team to graduate to NFC Super Bowl representative (both offense, defense, and special teams playing great).
I don't like us playing San Francisco. We don't match up well, and I don't see why the outcome will be any different than the first time. We'll be playing on the road where we lose more games than we win. I hope somebody else eliminates them, and we don't have to play them at all.

I think it is rational to believe the Cowboys should be favored in the two playoff games they host. That’s because the other teams they would face are just as questionable this season.

San Francisco is not some Goliath in relation to other great teams of the past. They just happen to be the best NFC team this season. There will always be teams that are as good or better than SF in the playoffs. There should be no fan or team members that would expect better prospects in the future if they cannot get it done this season with this core. The circumstances for winning the conference are not likely to ever get better-with this group.
