Richard is like the guy who can get an extra 50 horsepower out of a 300 horsepower engine, but doesn't know how to change a tire.

He is able to use great players to get great results, but doesn't know how to bring average players to great players.

Maybe in a couple of years if the Cowboys draft some top defensive backs...

Lol short sighted at best,
1 of the players was picked on the 1st round, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman was a 5th rounder((24th CB taken) Kam Chancellor 5th rounder, Brandon Browner was undrafted, Byron Maxwell 6th round. None of them was considered great talents out of the draft except ET.

So the only very good or great or borderline great players are first rounders?

Don't care what round they were drafted in, if the talent is there it doesn't matter what their draft round, or lack of draft round was. Does the name Tom Brady ring a bell?

The point is he was there before they became great players, maybe his teaching helped them. You said he can only use great players to get great results, fact: those players weren't great before he got great results out of them.

Marinelli just screams Taco Charlton over TJ Watt to me, that guy can piss off and never step his pigeon feet back in Dallas
I cant spit that taste out of my mouth enough every time I remember that sour grape.
it doesnt take a lot of total blunders, just one or two at that level and you remain 500 and sinking.

Guess the Dallas players were every one the worst to ever play in the NFL, because he did squat while he was at Dallas

Squat? Again short sighted as they ranked top 10 in passing. You're really striking out, you probably should stop posting....lol

Richard was getting HC interviews in 2019.

He was out of coaching in 2020.

Per his choice.. not because NFL did not think much of his DB coaching. In fact not only did he turn down interest from
Mike Nolan to be retained an DB coach .. but according to an interview with Richard, he mentioned that
he was getting offers to be an DB coach,.. but not as an DC. .. and he wants to be and DC again.

Yep. Simple coincidence that he's about to not be a DC a 2nd year in a row. Funny how that article doesn't mention how Richard lobbied for two high-profile DC jobs and was told no thanks.

Also, not a shock that Jerry "suggested" to Nolan to bring back Richard. Jerry spoke highly of Richard so he wants to be right about him. He's been pushing assistant coaches on people since 1996.

I actually like Richard. My whole argument has been that Jerry telling NFL people his coaches are promising HC candidates does not make it so. They even get interviews (Richard, now Moore). It just doesn't make them actual quality head coach candidates. You guys will eventually find out with Kellen.

Look at the Jerry coaching tree; the coaches where Jerry was clearly in charge. Jimmy produced guys like Norv Turner (2-time HC), Dave Wannstedt (3-time HC), and Butch Davis (4-time HC). Not world beaters by any means but went on to multiple HC opportunities.

Parcells had Sean Payton.

Jerry?

Barry Switzer, never coached again.
Chan Gailey (2-time HC), just fired as Dolphins OC. Currently out of football.
Dave Campo, never hired as HC again, recently let go from USC consultant job. Currently out of football.
Wade Phillips, never hired as HC again. Currently out of football.
Jason Garrett, OC for the 31st ranked NY Giants offense.

His recent coordinator hires?
Scott Linehan, fired as LSU OC
Kris Richard, out of football
Rod Marinelli, position coach
Keith O'Quinn, out of coaching

Outside of Matt Eberflus, which non-Jimmy or Parcells assistants have gone on to success?

Coaching in the NFL and NCAA D1 is absolutely a good old-boy network. With Jerry's network, they just aren't any good.
