Richard is fine as a DB's coach, but he wants a HC gig and I doubt he would return to a place he was fired from to accept less.

3 seasons as DC for SHawks.

Only 42.

he’s an elite coach.

True, Rod defense was not great but never recall giving up 29.6 points per game. Rod was bend but don't break and while not exciting his defense limited the scoring output of offenses for the most part. This past season a defensive victory was anything less than 30 points

he had a habit of calling the worst plays at the worst time.

Owned by ARodgers.

I wonder if we’d let Marinelli go and promoted Eberflues if we’d have drafted Watts and Thornhill rather than Taco and Hill.

I am talking preponderance, not cherry-picked success stories. Not your fault, old guy, it's something not likely taught in the Piney Woods.

I don't care what you're talking, I made my point, not my fault you can't accept you're you were wrong, Players have done it, Lee could do it as well. Just tuck your sorry tail and move along...lol

Richard was getting HC interviews in 2019.

He was out of coaching in 2020.

Because he chose to be out. He had offers as secondary coach. Gotta know what you're talking about.
Garrett joined the New York Giants as offensive coordinator and Marinelli became defensive line coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, while Richard drew interest from “six or seven teams,” he said, to run their secondary. Some might advise staying in position by at least being active with a team. But Richard concluded that he would be doing himself an injustice by taking a role for which he felt overqualified.

The response was to giving someone validation simply because they were getting HC interviews. Today's HC interview can fall out of favor really quick. Scott Linehan was once a head coach. Dave Campo , David Shula, Rich Kotite all actual HC's that someone once thought would make a great hire. Gregg Williams was once considered a HC candidate and that guy is bonkers.

You realize that "six or seven teams' quote could have easily come from his agent?

Garrett ran one of the worst offenses in the league. Marinelli was promoted back to DC, only to be demoted again when the Raiders hired Bradley. You're not really giving great examples here.

Richard, a USC guy by the way so I'm a fan, went from HC consideration to out of the league in less than 2 years. He wanted the USC DC job and lobbied for it, only to be told no thanks. by the college version of Jason Garrett, Clay Helton.

Also, if you think Richard is sitting out for some sort of break you are kidding yourself. He didn't like his offers or the teams went another way.

Gotta know what you're talking about.

Yes, they probably will oblige. The Joneses and you are very rudimentary in football smarts.

Your point, unfortunately, is atop your head. Do don't drain her brain.

The fact this isn't the first time it's been said, and It wasn't his agent who said it, it was Richard himself who said it. Also, what reason do he have to lie, he just had an interview with the Raiders. Every time someone says something, there doesn't have to be some sort of conspiracy behind it.
Again, know what you're talking about.

What's the alternative? Richard publicly admitting that no one wants to make him a DC, including his alma mater that he reached out to?

Looks like the Raiders passed and hired someone more worthy. Again, supports my original statement that a coach getting HC interviews does not automatically make him a good coach. Lots of poor coaches have gotten HC interviews and they continue to.

Doesn't support nothing, you made a statement as if he couldn't coach this season , that was false as he got offers as a secondary coach. But let's come up with a conspiracy to try and make a point.
