Wow...Ernie played like a Major Champion today and earned the win.

just an epic choke
It really is. My gosh, he may never completely recover because his lead was so huge at one point while on the back 9.

Adam closes with 4 straight bogeys and finishes +5 for the day. Ernie 4 birdies on the back 9 and finishes -2 for the day.

Ernie earned the win.

all those birdie puts he left a few inches short earlier really came back to bite him in the ***.

Ernie played really well but Scott gave the tournament away.

Steve Williams got a little karma maybe?

I feel bad for Adam Scott, but not for Williams.

Did the reporter from the BBC really just ask Adam Scott if the consecutive bogeys didn't help?

My gosh. That might be the worst sports reporting I have ever witnessed.

I'm not saying Adam did not have anything to do with Ernie winning. However Ernie was the only one really to step his game up in the last few groups. When everyone else was struggling coming down the stretch, Ernie was taking control.

You make it seem like the win just fell into Ernie's lap and that is not the case. He started the day behind everyone listed below and was the only one to play well.

Ernie -2
Adam +5
Tiger +3
Brandt +4
Graeme +5

And that good round by Els put the pressure on Scott. Scott had to look at the leaderboard and see that Els was playing well. It is a combination of both things, Els playing great and Scott choking; however, I wouldn't say it was 505-50%. More like 60% or more of Scott choking being the bigger factor in the outcome of this tournament.

someone posted this after Scott's tee shot on 18. Who was it?

"He is going to finish with 4 straight bogeys. I did not see him choking away the championship".

Karma for what?

some of the bad mouthing of Tiger. Face it Tiger put a lot of money in Steve Williams pocket over the years. Most caddies are not big mouths like Williams.

I was happy for Erine, I have been a big fan of him for a long time. I was still hoping an American would win but if not then I could not think of a better person than the Big Easy
