Broaddus has narrowed down our pick options at 12

I don’t like drafting players who miss significant time due to injuries and slow 40 times at the position
I hear you but Johnson is Cowboys scouts dream. Same as Williams, who by the way is a great run stopper. I am surprised that you don’t like him.

Despite his size, he has average length, which is a top 3 attribute you look for at the position.

Because Walker is strictly an EDGE. Williams is a 3-down lineman that can play inside and out. Williams also had better career numbers than Walker if you want to compare production.
i do agree that he is a much better pass rusher than a LB but Georgia lined him all over the place and he still had more sacks than Williams this past season..I like Walker because of his versatility, the QB is always on a lookout for on where he is lining up.

I guess I just can’t get the Ohio State and Washington games out of my head. He hand cuffed two top 10 receivers. If the Cowboys want Johnson they probably don’t want him to run. If he runs in the 4.45-4.5 range he won’t be there at 12.

Drafting a flex OT at 12 could be on the table IMO.......this would give us four ( Smith, Beebe, Guyton and ? ) to build the next 3-5 years

Steele contract..........we can save $14M post-June 1 release 2026

  • $23.https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/48236/terence-steele/contract/cap554M fully guaranteed at signing (signing bonus + 2023 salary + 2024 salary)
  • $13.25 million 2025 salary fully guarantees 3/16/2025 (injury guaranteed at sign)
We can, but then you are just treading water this year. I'm not a fan of cutting players and then using your top draft pick to replace them. You can do that if you have no other areas that need to be addressed, but that's not the case here. No doubt a OL at 12 would be an upgrade over Steele or whoever will be the left guard, but IMO we're upgrading positions that are OK while neglecting positions that are talent poor.

It's funny to me how tackle isn't an option. So after this year when Steele shows he will never be a top end pass blocker what's the plan to help out the 60 mil dollar man? Just a thought
So we gonna just draft a first round tackle every year?

Wr won't move the needle in rd 1. Gotta have a guy that influences games and outcomes at a high rate of return. I want Jeanty . It's Idiocracy listening to the reasoning for not taking him. The only other 2 guys I would consider there at 12 are Graham or Travis Hunter. Like the other players alot, but in a trade down. I'm all over wr in a trade down. This years top QBs are less than convincing. They have bust written all over them. But the sweet spot might be mid rd 2 to rd 3.

I want Jeanty too, but this is a wild statement. Look at what the upper-echelon WRs are going for right now. Passing league and you need elite pass catchers

Oline is what helps dak the most not wr/rb so yeah. Did you see Steele and Guyton pass blocking grades? Even if you have a run game you have to pass eventually. Tyron really saved Dak in those 12 win seasons

If you can't get the ball or stop the opposing team, what good does wr do ya? Trenches baby. Or RB like Jeanty. Ground and pound.

What happened to the prolific passing teams in the post season? Happens every year btw. They come up against a dominant defense that also has a stout Oline and good RB...then it's game over. Offense sells tickets in the regular season, but the other things I mentioned win Big games. It would be a mistake to not build our team this way. Jeanty doesn't require a great line either btw.

Even if thats true, why does it have to be a first round OL?

We’ve spent how many firsts on OL the last decade with Dak, and he still is ***

Philly literally won the SB because of their DL and AJ Brown torched Mcduffie.
