So if he’s right then that’s kind of a clue about what they may be looking for at TE in the draft.

I can all but guarantee if it’s Mayer or Washington, they are going to go Mayer. This team is close to taking the next level and Mayer helps year one.

Watch stevens interview on 105 radio station he talks about the TE and how blocking is such a huge part of what they want in the tight end they draft next. Mayer is too small and inconsistent in blocking washington is everything he talked about wanting in the tight end.

Darnell Washington is the most complete TE in this year's draft. Superior size, excellent blocker and good pass catcher who is aggressive running for YAC (yards after the catch).

Uhhh Mayer is a fantastic blocker? Some even grade him out better than Washington in that area. Obviously Washington has the unquestionably higher ceiling as a blocker with his size, but wanting a blocking TE would be a reason to take Mayer, not to pass on him.

I don’t care what anyone says I’ve watched a ton of tape in Mayer he’s not in the same world as Washington anyone who says this has lost their mind Washington blocks like a tackle. Mayer is slightly above Shultz in blocking.
