I think we take Wentz if he's at 4. I'd be willing to bet Risen's fortune and empire.

My suspicion is the aforementioned fortune is primarily a prodigious amount of consumer debt, it gets costly to pay Mike Fisher and his insider subscriptions every year...LOL.

Nice try. You have NO clue about that. It's fine to voice your opinion, but not to pass it off as a fact.

Actually I do have a clue about that. I could be wrong. But I highly doubt it. My track record is far too good predicting these things.

Wentz would be the 3rd or 4th QB taken if he was in last years draft class.

But not enough to draft him. Said it today on the Fan. He said his Cleveland guy that works in the front office has always been reliable.

They then asked him if he thought the Cowboys would take a QB at 4 and he thought the they would.

Thought I would share. The draft can't get here fast enough as this speculation is getting nuts!

One last thing he said that Hue Jackson, who was once at Cal, know how those players are, etc so Goff could be the apple of his eye.

Makes sense for them to go with Goff. Wentz would be a INT machine as a rookie and Jackson knows Goff well

Give me Wentz and then Henry, and the rest defense outside of Jakeem Grant, and you have your team post Romo folks. Oline, QB to step in, and a beast RB, plus the quickest, fastest little dude in the league!

Wentz falls to the Cowboys at #4 they take him. They don't bother with phones.
Yes I'd like Ramsey or Elliott but there is the 2nd round and later to acquire
some quality RB,DE and such. No brainier

Unless someone tards up, Wentz isn't taken until SanFran @ #7 or later. The hype surrounding a guy that was 2nd round up until about 4 months ago, suddenly sky rocketing to the 1st overall and someway now could be a better prospect than Andrew Luck, speaks for itself, I don't have to say anything.

Logically observing, there is only one Franchise Type in the 2016 NFL Draft and he's not Peyton Manning. If Dallas was going to take a Franchise QB in the 2016 NFL Draft, Jared Goff is the only one that matches the mold/description.

Inasmuch as Wentz has not played a single down yet in the NFL, anyone who says he IS or is NOT a franchise QB is voicing their opinion. Works both ways.

First, appreciate the info!

That would be great but still doesn't guarantee a team won't hop us for Wentz @ 1 or 3. Ramsey is a great athlete and potentially a great S but if we don't move up w/TEN or CLE we are out of the QB game in all likelihood. Bummer...in that scenario I would see if STL is willing to trade up (wait for them to call JJ!; get the word out through other avenues;) so we can keep the upper hand in negotiations) and maybe hope Lynch is there or wait for next year and hope our 1st fits the QB need that is currently present.

If Romo is healthy this year (big if) we won't be in the top 5, or even top 20 in all likelihood so have to keep that aspect in mind for moving up in next year's draft. So this would be another wasted season if Romo goes down. McClay will have to prove he can get a franchise QB later in the first in 17' w/a healthy Romo (I hope). We won't have the ammo to get back into top 5, yet alone 1st overall (doubt STL will go buck wild and sell the farm, etc.).

the same as Bortles

Very few people were talking about Bortles heading into this season. But as a redshirt junior, he caught the attention of many in the world of college football.

Bortles is a big quarterback, who uses his strength to shed tacklers in the pocket and his speed and athleticism to extend plays or pick up first downs. The comparisons to Ben Roethlisberger are inevitable as they have a similar build. But I don't believe Bortles' arm is as strong, and his passes are most effective in the intermediate zone. He lost a little bit of velocity this past season and it could be because of his mechanics, which will need to be corrected at the next level. But he can make all the necessary throws.

Another issue Bortles has is throwing to his left where he doesn't appear as comfortable as when he's throwing to his right side. Bortles has the ability to evade rushers with his athleticism and strength, but he also does a good job hanging in with rushers closing in on him. It's that poise along with a lot of upside that has NFL teams salivating over what he could become with time to develop.

I'm not as high on him as others. I see a lot of Jake Locker. The upside is undeniable, but any team that drafts him will be doing it on what he can become rather than who he is currently, which makes him a risky selection
. An ability to extend plays, while causing headaches for opposing defenses is a bonus, not the foundation of a great quarterback. Bortles is still not enough of a reliable passer from inside the pocket. I wouldn't use a Top 10 pick on him
