Broaddus on possibility of coaching staff changes

Need a OC and QB coach that can work with Dak's strength and weakness and help him blossom
More consistent play from the QB would a game changer. Dak has " It" in the clutch and in the 4th. However he needs to be much more consistent for this team to take the next step

ditto..BUT also don't rule out Garrett himself deciding to essentially fire himself. SOUNDS FUNNY...we all assume he will be here, but I am not 100% sold on this. Stay tuned.
Got my fingers crossed. Tired of JG’s ineptness.

Different players same results, and one thing remains the same. JG.

Saw a stat that Dallas hasn’t won a road divisional playoff game since 1992. Guess who joined the Cowboys in 1992? JG coincidence?

Go ahead fire the assistant coaches and cordinatoors. The truth is this team has an outdated philosophy on the offensive side of the ball. Ex-players and some current players take small jabs at the play designs and game plans especially after being thrown under the bus by these coaches.
Kinda torpedos the argument when you go back to 1992 doesn't it? I mean with those 3 Super Bowl victories and all. Personally I'd take 3 super bowl wins over having to play on the road in the playoffs. That's not a comment on what kind of coach Garrett is (niether pro nor con), just more of a comment on how 'road divisional playoff win' is a pretty useless set of parameters to build an argument on.

The defense was great against Seattle and ranked 7th in the NFL this year. Give him a year or 2 to have some personnel input and we should get a lot better.

You got a better option? lol
I don't, but I just saw a lot of easy completions against Seattle once they decided to pass. Carroll gave us that game with their insistence on running.

The Rams just annihilated our front seven, so hard to tell anything from that game really. All I know is there is no danger passing against us. We have zero playmakers who can turn a game. Today's NFL playoff defense is about making a play, ie turnover, when it matters. See the end of the Saints game.

Th only way a new OC will work is if he is not connected to JG or his philosophy. If we just bring in a SL 2.0 it will be the same old thing. They need to bring in someone not connected to JG or his philosophy and give him FULL control over the offense.

I think Garrett would actually make for a very good G.M. However there is a problem with that.

People forget Sean Payton had play calling duties stripped from him when with the Giants. Coaching is a craft one must improve every year too. I don't mind aggressive Garrett, and you can't argue that guys don't play for him.

Please don’t compare Payton to Garrett. Payton won a SB in his 4th year and has a good shot this year. If he and Garrett were available Payton would have a job in a nano second. Garrett might not even get an OC job.

I don't think Kris has the safeties he wants. Remember, he just got here and has had no say in personnel. He did a heck of a job with what he was given. He made Byron Jones into a pro bowler. That alone should get him the job.

As for the Rams, they didn't do much in the air and Goff barely completed 50% of his throws. The run defense was horrific. Again, not Richards fault. Marinelli runs the DL and picked all the players.

Against Seattle, we stuffed the #1 run offense in football. Thats what Seattle has done all year. A lot of those completions never happen if we had anyone pressuring the QB.

I agree with your last point especially. Our pass rush has been quite anemic recently. That's a tendt where we fizzle at the end of the season.

And I guess I hadn't considered the safeties. I do think we are weak in the middle in terms of DT and S. Maybe not weak, but nothing above average.

But Richard runs the LBs. I expect them to stop the run.

The dline got no rush. The dline and LBs couldn't stop the run. There's blame enough for everybody.

you all realize we were 1 win away from the Championship game right? JUST CHECKING.

Yay! Let's hand out a trophy, yeah? Garrett is now 0-3 as a head coach in the divisional round. Let's go further to when he was an OC here and he's 0-5. His offensive philosophy does not work once we get to the divisional round. His teams are never prepared. When will people ever start to hold him to any standards? Who cares about one game away. Is that your goal? We have made zero progress with Garrett.

Ben Bloom runs the linebackers. In any case, I'll take anyone that doesn't have a philosophical issue with a 340 lb space eater in the middle.

From DC.com

I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen with this coaching staff in the offseason. Change is always a possibility. Even teams that have some success will change their staff when other coaches become available. I believe Jason Garrett will make some changes to this staff. Garrett has already proven that he’s not afraid to make a change, like he did midseason with Paul Alexander and Marc Columbo. If I had to make a guess, it won’t be just one or two guys. I hear the rumblings in the building, so I will patiently wait -- but I have a feeling things will happen more sooner than later. Next Monday we head to the Senior Bowl where the majority of NFL coaches will be. It would not shock me one bit to hear of Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett meeting with prospective coaches -- so stay tuned.

My guess - Linehan, Moore and new ST coach.

Those 3 would be a great START!!

LOL.

Didn’t we make changes last year?

How many times are we going to change assistants and the roster before we realize the problem goes beyond that?

Holy crap, we might be the dumbest franchise in the NFL right now.

Garrett was a terrible OC so Jerry made him HC... Garrett is no Payton.

No might about it with Red staying yet again. Another game where there were no half time adjustments...you can’t do that even in pee wee let alone big boy football.
