You may be right. My daughter has gone through a sexual abuse/rape situation with one of her boyfriends. She still has anxiety and mental health issues to this day. It's been hard to root for Ball due to this. Living in MO, I also always had (and still do) a dislike for Tyreek Hill for that same reason.

Everyone deserves a second chance. He appears to have his life in order.

I watched the All-22 of the Seattle first-half. He looked darn good. Good knee-bend for a 6-8 guy. Showed nice power. Gotta admit, he's come a long way.

He may be the answer at backup guard. I think Richards may be a nice developmental player at OT.
So sorry brother. Prayers for your daughter, you and your family. My oldest daughter had the same happen to her 5 years ago. She didn't tell her mother or I until almost 9 months later after it had affected her so bad, it cost her sanity and her college scholarship which she had worked so hard for.

Sick of our franchise hyping up JAGs because they are too cheap to get real backups. You wonder why we haven't won a thing in 30 years.

He was much better against SEA than Jax. He mostly did his job, probably was the most consistent lineman. Waletzko and Farniok were horrible again.
Watch Hoffman. He makes Farniok look like TFred. Hoffman is the scum that accumulates on the bottom of a trash can.

He did the same apology for Steele and Tyler Smith.

He needs to realize his slieghts on players form these horrible narratives and he should be more responsible with his analysis.
I can’t stand Broaddus. I think he is a blow hard. Guy built a career off of being an ex scout. Meanwhile he was terrible at that job. Over the years I would marvel at the stupidity of his analysis and how often he was wrong. I also found him to be rude and dismissive to fans. The guy is an idiot.

Ball looked like garbage a year ago, in what was essentially his “rookie” outing after spending an entire year on IR, not playing or practicing football. Waletzko is in a similar position this year. Waletzko was also on IR for a year, and though this is his second training camp, he may as well be considered a rookie. Waletzko has looked bad this summer, just as Ball looked bad last summer. But we can reasonably expect Waletzko to improve over this season and start looking good a year from now.

Terence Steele developed into a starting level OT in his third season. People keep trashing the Cowboys back up linemen, but they are developing as you would expect. Ball and Farniok are going into their second full healthy seasons. Hoffman, Richards, and Waletzko are going into their first full healthy seasons, along with Bass and Bostick.

You would think that the fans would give the Cowboys some credit for recognizing and developing offensive line talent. They’ve been pretty good at it for a very long time going all the way back to Larry Allen, Flozell Adams, Andre Gurode, Leonard Davis, etc. There was a dip just prior to Garrett becoming head coach, but Garrett quickly compensated by spending 3 of his first 4 first round picks on Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, and Zack Martin.

Going back through the Jones tenure with the team, the Cowboys have habitually had around 3-4 Pro Bowl caliber offensive lineman nearly every season for 35 years. If Jerry & Co. had spent as much time focused on the Defensive line, maybe the Cowboys would have won more consistently.

But doubting the Cowboys ability and focus on the Offensive line, given their history, just doesn’t make too much sense.
Waletzko has good power when healthy and good reaction time but I feel his shoulders are always going to be an issue for him. I hope I'm wrong and that he has a long productive career for us, but I don't think it will happen.

I’ve done an OL deep dive on both preseason games. Richards (as a tackle only) and Ball have been a tier above everyone else, even against starting defenses of the other teams.

I’m honestly so impressed with Richards at LT that I wouldn’t move Tyler over if Tyron went down. I’d just start Asim. And if Zack or Tyler got hurt I wouldn’t blink about Ball. He’s not Martin, but neither of these guys will get you killed

Source in case this hasn't been posted.

Here is the video/audio: https://www.audacy.com/1053thefan/s...dus-reviews-the-tape-from-cowboys-vs-seahawks

Also, PFF had this as Ball's best performance, saying he did not allow a pressure:
https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-3-thin...owboys-preseason-loss-to-the-seattle-seahawks

"Ball played this game like he was pissed off, as he was firing off the snap with bad intentions to often displace Seattle's interior defenders. Ball was particularly adept on double-team and combination blocks, repeatedly bullying Seahawks defenders out of their assigned gaps Saturday night."

I won't argue that, Hoffman is awful. It would be a joke for him to be on the final roster.

Farniok was terrible when he has to block someone one on one. Jarran Reed tossed him around like a rag doll in the 1st quarter. As good as the DTs are in the NFCE, it's suicide to rely on him as backup center.

? what? too cheap to get real backups? what is your opinion of backup Oline play league wide? This isn't a "Cowboys are cheap" problem its a 30 good NFL OL's with 120 needed problem.

I have to chime in and say that I was wrong as well. When I heard they were moving Ball to guard, I gave him zero chance and assumed he was a guaranteed cut.

Just stop listening to Broaddus.

Bob Sturm is the only Cowboys media who can provide a player eval of any value.

I have no idea what this is supposed to mean. Maybe Broaddus does or doesn't know his stuff, but he doesn't put in any work. He just says things.

Sturm regularly breaks down tape and is thorough in his scouting. He's the best Cowboys writer, by far.

It's a process.
It may be a sarcastic word, fans make fun at the word here because of Jason Garrett...

it actually is a process, it's called developing players,

I mean literally this board is already throwing out Mazi Smith...
This is why fans are not GMs, This is why fans don't have $10 billion to own a team, they are not professional coaches, they are not even scouts, or talent evaluators...
they probably couldn't even organize the locker room.
they need to stay in their lanes because that's all we get is hyperbole and opinion in here and sometimes a player like Terrence Steele for instance was in the position that ball was in and this place did not like him, Doug free same thing, all of a sudden they develop. Hell Tyler Smith when he was taken they were telling Jerry he was lying that this guy was their top offensive player at line and they wanted to see the sheet, literally they said he was their pick as a top lineman in the first round where they were picking, and guess what all the people that said it was a reach and a project turned out to be wrong.. the dude can play left guard or left tackle from almost day one. And guess what he's gonna get better he wasn't perfect last year by any stretch of the imagination he needs to work on the speed rush guys they usually can get a step on him.

fans truly don't want to wait for development and for the process that either work or not you cannot judge a player in the first preseason or the first year in existence... if they're the type that needs some developing this is the coach's job, these are not finished products that come into the NFL..

As good as Micah Parsons is he's still developing he was all good from the beginning but to be Hall of Fame great he's going to develop even more.

so he's going to go from really good to probably elite of the elite, but we get a guy like Josh ball who's going to go from bad to serviceable and maybe someday good, never great. he's not going to be elite we're just looking for backup depth.
