Broaddus says he was told by Cowboys that they would not take Hampton at 12

Video linked at the comment.

Also noteworthy:

- He's got 15 1st round grades.

- He has Golden as his WR4, behind McMillan, Burden and Egbuka.

- Kaleb Johnson is his RB2.

- Notre Dame CB Benjamin Morrison is one of his 1st round grades.

- His board will be posted on the 105.3 website on draft week.

if they want hampton, they can trade down to 20s and get him. and get a extra 2nd rounder in the process

Jeanty is the only RB to even consider taking that high.

He may have golden at WR4 but I would assume his grades on the top 4 is extremely close. Honestly I wouldn’t argue any order for those guys.
I think Hampton looks awesome I would love to watch him play. Looks a little Derrick Henry esque.

And in a trade back or if he survives to 44 I would be very happy with that. I'm just not sure the gap between Hampton and the next few RBs is enough to justify taking at 12. It's close, but I even like Henderson a little more.

Sometimes I just watch too much YouTube on running backs and I feel liek they’re all good simply bc im staring at breakaway highlights

having said that Omarion has that Derick Henry demarco Murray just fun run style. And I honestly got gassed up on cam skattabo at one point in this draft process and he would be a terrible mid round pick he jsut isn’t gonna make huge plays and change the offense day 1 like Hampton

Its also not that much fun to read through empty trade downs with no real scenario attached to it. This forum gets drunk on those awful simulators to the point where real world possibilities become irrelevant to them
I gave you the scenario. You just think it’s unlikely, which in and of itself is fine; but that doesn’t make me ‘drunk on awful simulators’ or my thoughts ‘empty’. You can disagree without insulting me.

Wasn't insulting you. My apologies if you took it that way. Im talking about people that spam the forum with empty trade back scenario's with no context. For that I wont apologize for

It was always a dumb to mock him to dallas. Nobody smart would take a rb in round 1 without a special skill. There's nothing special about Hampton.

I think one of the things I've heard him say about Egbuka is he's the best blocking WR in the draft.

IMO, Egbuka is good at almost everything, but not exceptional at anything. Probably has a very high floor, but I don't think he has the ceiling of a 12th pick.
Agreed. He is someone you draft after trading back. I like him. But not at 12.

Good .. Hampton at 12 would be an awful pick provided our needs at multiple premium positions and the ability to select a day 1 starter RB in a later round. I like the player but hate the selection at 12.
How about at 18 and getting an extra pick?

Was Detroit stupid? I think losing out on the top 4 backs in this draft is stupid. I'd rather have 1 of them on our team instead of the oposition.
No, but then again, they had several top picks that draft.

I'd rather see them go for Warren like the Lions went for LaPorta.

Gibbs has an elite trait. Who says the top 4 are the best? What makes them the best to YOU? Not what Mel kiper tells you.

Hope Broaddus is right.

Also, you guys clown him a lot--but as a fan, I'm extremely thankful for Broaddus and his insight, attitude, honesty. I think we're lucky to have him, to be honest. He doesn't have to be right all the time, and he isn't, but he's a great guy and does great work for fans.
