Why? Because he is loyal to Lovie? What about his loyalty to his current players who by all accounts love him, what about his loyalty to Jason, and Jerry? What about job security? Jason should be here for the long haul and If Lovie has another year like this one he could be out. And doesn't Tampa have a DC now? Ant what about loyalty to his family maybe they love Dallas, and maybe Jerry offers him a lot more money than Tampa. What about that?

I think he stays.

Why do people think he's gone, anyway? Nothing's been said publicly about it in any way, and Broaddus has been pretty clear that he has no inside information, just his own opinion here. Why would the guy leave a great gig that he likes where he works with an old friend and will get paid handsomely for a demotion to a small market team to start all over at his age with a new group of players just to work with another old friend who may not have much of a leash? It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Broaddus has been saying this all year, and it doesn't make since.

No one is giving him a HC job. So he's gonna leave his sweet DC position here and go be a DC somewhere else? I don't get it.

If ( I want to say When but I don't want to jinx us) we win the Super bowl it would make it hard for him to leave, in my opinion

I am so tired of this topic it's not even funny.

And every other week when a new thread about it pops up, I, like an idiot, click on it, expecting to see some actual concrete evidence pointing one way or the other, yet inevitably it's just more lame speculation about Rod leaving for Tampa, which literally makes no sense.

I predict that Rod returns. He's an RKG. No way he up and leaves Garrett after a year like this.

Coupled with Tampa already having a good DC in Leslie Frazier and he would be displacing a former coach who worked under him at Detroit in Joe Cullen as defensive line coach, how's that for loyalty?

No one is giving him a HC job. .

Why not?. Yeah he had a terrible record with Detroit, but that was with Matt Millen as GM, the guy who arguably everyone in the world agrees is much worse than Jerry. He never had a chance there.

Why wouldn't he get another shot?

Broadus is almost certainly wrong about this. He should stick to things he knows well. Frankly, I have limited time for him even then (mostly because he seems more interested in showing off what he knows than in communicating what he knows).

I honestly don't think it would be the end of the world. Eberflus could be a real up and comer. Every year the linebackers are running on fumes by the end of the season but he takes what he has and gets them ready to play.
