Anybody else notice something different about Prescott. It seems like he can’t see over the line. It’s not that he can’t read a defense, he can’t see the defense twice. He jumped off the ground to throw the football. That’s why he’s floating it to the outside. He has to get it over the defender. The Pits are getting taller and he’s getting shorter.
It's all the pressure. It's crushing him. Pretty soon he'll be shorter than Deuce

McCarthy should have been fired post-GB.

But Jerry’s cheap as hell so he got one more year.
Yes this.

MM was brought in for one reason: to get this team “over the hump” in the playoffs and win a championship.

He can point to as many 12 win seasons as he wants to— but the bottom line is that he has failed in his main objective, and the last 2 home Ls look catastrophic and morale destroying

I've been going back and forth on this. My opinion of the roster is that this is not a very good team. But I also think there is something wrong with the coaching too. These player do no play with anger, or pride. That could be on the players, but it is consistent no matter who is on the roster. Is that a coaching issue or is it on the players? I believe coaching has something to do with it.

And what about the OL? I watched a lot of football the last two weeks and I have not seen another OL that cannot run block even a little bit. Just the Cowboys. They are awful. One guy gets a good block and the other 4 get collapsed. This has been a problem for a couple of years now. Is it the OL coach? Some people think so. I am beginning to think so too. This is especially important because we drafted two guys who have a lot of potential and we want to get the most out of them.

After the Jerry "all in" fiasco I said I would not allow any of the hype to cloud my judgement about this team. As a skeptic I see this team a lot differently now. This is not a good team. They have major flaws at every position almost. Players are not good just because the Cowboys signed them. Jerry is trying to convince you he can make a gourmet omelet out of trash he collected. Don't believe him.

I'll say it again, Jerry did not improve the team in 2024 over 2023. The team that got blown out by GB is actually worse this year. Some players are gone from last year. Some got a year old, some are rookies who need a year or two to develop. Prepare yourself for more blowout losses like yesterday.

Being outcoached happens plenty, and not just under Mike.

It’s either a retread and/or someone with no experience hand picked by genius Jerry who is just happy for the opportunity.

Why would any coach who has several suitors go to a franchise whose FO refuses to find a way to add the necessary players, and be subject to constant undermining?

Couple that with Jerry not respecting the HC position and this is what you get. Repeatedly.

It's the EXACT same thing we saw last year. We have a big game and then the next game the team completely tanks. It seems like the coaching lets the players coast after they have a big game and they think they are going into the next game and will win easily and end up getting thrashed. Next game, they should end up looking prepared and will play much better. This sort of thing will NOT work in the play-offs.

Were the cowboys outcoached? Sure.

That being said. There also isn’t a scheme that says “get pushed off the LOS, 5 yards down the field.”

There is no scheme for “don’t set the edge”

There is no scheme for “ miss tackles”.

The players were straight awful on Sunday.

There are a lot of issues and we will see how this team responds to their second beatdown at home in a row. There are a lot of pointing of fingers but I just have a hard time believing this team will do anything of importance with this DL. I think Osi is pretty good. Outside of him though, the rest of our D-line room may not make a lot of other teams rosters. We picked up two guys at the end of the road before the season. We have no idea if Mazi is an NFL player. It is going to be tough to win against smart, physical teams when your Defensive line is getting manhandled. The rush is another concern. Parsons is one of the best in the league. Lawrence is good, but man he is older and we will see if he can do it consistently. Outside of that, we have very little who can provide consistent pressure.

Gut-punching analysis by Bryan Broaddus and Voch Lombardi. The Saints coaches/playcallers came prepared for the game vs Cowboys. The Cowboys coaches/playcallers were totally unprepared and outcoached.

Jerry Jones might need to consider hiring young coaches from yearly successful programs like the Shanahan or Reid tree.

What say you?

BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I can't wait to get off work to watch this!!!!!!! These old playbooks need to be burned, i'm tired of seeing this! Let's get creative, let's make defenses guess actually my gosh!!!!

A lot of blame being placed on players.

IMO, coming in completely unprepared and being able to make adjustments leading to a blowout is becoming a staple of McCarthy's tenure. Buffalo, SF and GB last year and now NO this year.

Coaching is really underrated and is probably Jerry's true achilles heel. Let's talk David Carr. Right now, he looks like a top 5 QB. In the past, people thought he was trash. I think he is the same player but just put in a good situation by his coach with good teammates.

Until Dallas gets a disciplinarian coach with some tactician coordinators who prepare and adjust at an elite level, Dallas is always going to have a ceiling on how good it can be.
Carr is underrated but a lot QBs look fantastic when they can throw fewer than 20 passes and win. We couldn’t stop the run and that’s what killed us.

What is terrible is how much money we spend on the OL and yet we can’t run the ball. I don’t know why we don’t use a Reid / Shannan tree run game. They seem to be able to throw anybody back there and do ok.

This is a staple of MM and this regime, it's not only not showing up, but failing to make any in game adjustments. Even yesterday after it was 21-13 after CD's TD, the game was still there for the taking, and zero adjustments as the saints moved down the field with ease. You also noticed how SOFT the defense was yesterday, with tons of missed tackles while the Saints were hitting every cowboy hard, one team WANTED to to dominate, the other was their to collect a check

Bingo. You can't scheme anything up when you're players are getting destroyed across the board. Maybe this is a coaching issue Monday-Saturday, but I'm not sure what else the Cowboys could have done from an Xs and Os standpoint.

What adjustments should they have made? Where I struggle is in complaining about how the team didnt make the proper Xs and Os moves, but then in the next sentence we talk about how soft the players were and all the missed tackles. There is plenty of blame to go around for everyone, but I'm not sure what adjustments we can actually expect to work if your players are getting blown off the ball every snap.

Exactly. You get out coached yes. It makes it hard to win and you may lose.

But being out coached doesn’t mean your defense barely provides resistance and gets scored on at all.

The players have agency. The players can still make plays. Nobody on defense did make
Plays yesterday though.

It’s not that. It’s that he got paid and doesn’t care anymore.

It’s not out of the ordinary for him to act like a deer in headlights when the team isn’t performing well anyways so why is this performance “different” from any of his past ones?
Conspiracy theories, you probably believe it

I'm not a coach, but usually when a team is being dominated like it was usually you either mix it up or try something new to stop what hasn't been working, GOOD coaches make adjustments all the time
