Broaddus would trade Pickens and a 1st round pick for Maxx Crosby

Broaddus is...how can I put this nicely....not really smart.

Crosby's knee needs to check out before I would trade a 5th and one of Mazi's old cleats for him.

I don't see the Cowboys making that trade because they already gameplanned the draft and free agency for that position and they will likely want to see what they have with Parker and his staff.

Not to mention, they brought the entire starting offense back (and they needed tackle upgrades) so they could hopefully repeat last year's offensive performance with a better defense.

I think if the Cowboys make a deal for an edge rusher it would probably get done in-season and close to the deadline.

If the team is like 5-3 and the defense is playing well except for getting pressure, I could see them making a move for Crosby if the Raiders are like 2-6.

It would be great to have Crosby but weakening the offensive side and giving up another 1st round pick when they've already invested a good amount the last 2 years in the position should give anyone pause.

Obviously value says premier pass rushers are worth 2 1st round picks when healthy, but unless you're 1 player away from true contention I just don't see the value in making the move. We don't really know much about this team other than they're coming off 2 down seasons, have a good offense, and suspect defense. Making the move with so many questions doesn't feel like the way to go.

It’s too bad that the return on that “investment” pretty much hinges on the hope of the complete unknown that is Lawrence.

It’s like saying we have too much “investment” in Guyton and Steele to consider trading for Penei Sewell

Does Crosby make the defense 3 points a game better? Long term given you are.giving up a first rounder too...

And.crosby is older, and now dealing with injuries and has a shorter shelf life.

Personally I would pass. I don't think Crosby makes this defense better by 3 points a game. Pickens+CD are a match up problem
