Broaddus would trade Pickens and a 1st round pick for Maxx Crosby

I don't see the Cowboys making that trade because they already gameplanned the draft and free agency for that position and they will likely want to see what they have with Parker and his staff.

Not to mention, they brought the entire starting offense back (and they needed tackle upgrades) so they could hopefully repeat last year's offensive performance with a better defense.
It's crazy to think we're trotting out two top-tier WRs along with an oft-injured QB who needs a clean pocket, the three of whom eat the lion's share of the cap, AND we're trusting it all to two of the poorest pass-protecting tackles in the whole freaking NFL. Sure, they might do better this year,,,,"might". Talk about rolling the dice!

It’s too bad that the return on that “investment” pretty much hinges on the hope of the complete unknown that is Lawrence.

It’s like saying we have too much “investment” in Guyton and Steele to consider trading for Penei Sewell
I get that view, there's a lot hinging on Ezeiruaku and Lawrence who are largerly unproven but they did atleast get Gary in the mix as well who should be a solid contributor. What's different with the tackle situation is Guyton has been here 2 seasons and Steele 5 and we just haven't seen consistency. There's also no 3rd guy to say, well we should be OK at one of the spots with them.

Lastly, if you're trading high draft capital for a proven player that's expensive it should be for a team on the brink of competing for a championship. Are the Cowboys in that camp? Would hope they could be, but realistically they haven't earned that the last 2 seasons. Something to reconsider closer to the trade deadline, but would pass on Maxx now if that was the trade on the table.

What's up with this.........thought any possible Crosby trade was dead

The only defensive trade I make at this point is for MLB J. Brooks and I'm certainly not trading Pickens. I'd trade a conditional 3rd that could become a 2nd for him as I think he's that good and is just what the middle of the D is missing.

I think that would be a good deal for us. But not this season.

We are not one player away from being at least a contender. We right now made the first little steps to revamp the defense. But Parker needs at least one more offseason with a good draft and FA to finish his product. And the pronouncation lies on "good", because this FO isnt able to have good drafts.

And then the offense lacks players at important positions too.

After all that and we then are still not able to win something meaningfull such kind of deals make sense.

Maybe they're thinking it worked well with those 2 last year.

Could see this trade happening later in the year if someone went down, I don't think you'd include Pickens.

So you have to see the plus.and minus on each side.

How many points a game do we lose without Pickens? 3?

Does Crosby make the defense 3 points a game better? Long term given you are.giving up a first rounder too...

And.crosby is older, and now dealing with injuries and has a shorter shelf life.

Personally I would pass. I don't think Crosby makes this defense better by 3 points a game. Pickens+CD are a match up problem
Lose 3 points a game from not having GP? I say more like at least 7. And possibly even 10.
Crosby may shave off 3 points a game.
But yes, you are correct. Older player, ad give up a 1st round pick. No way. Especially when many feel Dallas is another year away. Well, at least outside of this forum. Some say we will never get there. A few outsiders think Dallas are contenders already, at least for a decent playoff run.

We only have a 1, 2, 3, 6, 6 round picks for 2027. No way they trade a 1st. Plus teams know that 1st round picks is the latter of the 2 they have. The higher one goes t o the Jets.
