So what would Brady, Big Ben, Brees be rating in using his legs? Probably not to high, There's a reason Dez wanted Romo back when he was healthy last year. Legs and leadership haven't won many super bowls for a qb as much as his arm. At this point in Dak's career he's nowhere close to the qb that Romo was, he doesn't see the field like a veteran passer can and that affects all his receivers.

LOL............romo didnt even sniff a SB. Dak got us as far as Romo had in his rookie year. Please! Dak was handling the team much better than Romo ever did last year.

Does Romo handle a struggling team better when he was in his prime? I would say definitely. But again, Dak is only in his 3rd year.

TO, Austin, Terry Glenn, Dez in his prime, Witten in his prime.

And who does Dak have to throw to at this point? A washed up Dez, a washed up Witten, a horrid Williams? Beasley is the only guy I like out there at this point.

If we're going to run a run first ball control offense then we need to score at a hight level; I'd say a Sc% of 45 or so and get off to an early lead. You must avoid mistakes or drive killing penalties to do that as well as stay in manageable 3rd down situations. You must be able to strike on occasion esp with pass action. We must be able to force them out of the box with the pass and Dak/receivers must be on the same page with quick passes. We need more horizontal passes esp slants and over the middle routes. If they want to play Cover one and blitz then you have to beat it.

We don't have a quick strike offense generally although we can run a hurry up no huddle pretty well. For some reason Garret/Lin6ehan play a bit too conservative too often IMO. Getting 4-6 yards on first down is great but you can't run on first too often. I could go on but won't bore.

The key is a high Sc% and RZ% with overall goals of 25+ PPG giving up 17 PPG.
Yeah that's all correct although I think if we got an Achilles heel this week it might be Russell Wilson versus Rod Marinelli. Just the thought of it gives me gas.

Dez is trash.

Listen to interviews from all top CB’s he’s played over the years.

Listen to actual analysts on his play.

He can’t run routes and loafs out on the field

If Dez is trash what is every other receiver on the roster?

Btw are you 50+

They’re horrible. I’ve been saying all season we have the worst receiving core in the league.

No infusion of talent for 4 years. You can see it.

Born in 92’. Never seen the cowboys win anything worth a damn and I’m fed up with the lackadaisical mentality of all the fans.

Interesting, from what I've seen the Dez haters typically fall in two categories. You're way under the age requirement but I'm almost certain you are in the other group.

For perspective, Michael Irvin was one of my all time favorite players...

Dez just isn't the same without an elite QB. He runs limited routes and has a very specific skill set. Unless he is used in just the right way, he becomes much more of a JAG. Until Dak develops and learns how to use him, this is what he is IMO. There could be some truth to the injury concerns, but we won't know that tell end of season, if at all. I believe another part of this is Dak's unwillingness to make some of the throws that Dez is elite at. These throws have much more risk, which goes against the very trait that made Dak so good last year, risk aversion.

Its not the QB. Its just Dez's strength isn't running routes or his speed. Its him getting the ball in the air at the right moment. It took years for him and Romo to get on the same page. Romo was smart enough to just throw up in the air to him and let him do his thing. So to say that its because of Romo being elite doesn't factor in many things.

Dak is new. He didn't have years with Dez to work on getting on the right page. He follows the playbook given to him. Thats more on the coaches for not using Dak towards his strength and make him play like Romo.

Best thing for coaches to do is draw up plays for Dak. Scrap the playbook as it is and start from scratch.

Yes, that is pretty much what I said. I don't fault Dak for not being able to fully utilize Dez yet, but that is the situation we have right now. So in a way, yes it is the QB. I'm not saying Dak will never get there, but he isn't there right now.
