http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2...-gregory’s-speed-among-thursday’s-12-thoughts

I know that he's not the most popular scout/writer on this board. But I enjoy his commentary just the same, and it tends to be a good conversation starter on the zone.

Here's my thought's, piggybacking off of The Broad One (read his thoughts first):

I am really excited to see Whitehead and Beasley in the upcoming preseason. Whitehead may not be the fourth receiver, but putting both Beasley and Whitehead in the slot positions of a 4 receiver set could create some serious mismatches.

Gus Johnson could be there 1 yard getter. But I would really hate to see the Cowboys show their hand and only use him in that capacity...and I'm not sure he is good for more than that against most NFL defenses. Granted, if you YouTube his highlights he break's away at times but I can't see him having that same type of success.

I can't imagine the Cowboys allowing Scandrick, their top corner, to practice while battling through something. That just doesn't seem smart at this juncture of his career and at this point in training camp.

I'm not sure Randall Gregory's abilities are going to show up this season like some may start to think based off Broadus' gushing.

It's all about knowing what to expect with Broaddus. He is often very misleading because he is often wrong, but if you can filter his comments then you can extract some info.

8) I wish that Chaz Green was not injured to give a challenge to Darrion Weems at that swing tackle spot. Weems is going to win this job without a fight unless the front office tries to bring another tackle in at the final cut. As much as I like Weems’ athletic ability and movement, I worry about his ability to just sit down and handle a rusher that can play with power. There are just too many snaps where he is struggling to get settled, and that is troubling.

12) There is nothing more enjoyable than the Jerry Jones post-practice press conference. If you haven't had a chance, make sure you check out his comments on DallasCowboys.com from Thursday's practice - some great insight from what the general manager has seen so far.

If Jerry stops suddenly, Broaddus will end up with a broken nose.

Broaddus used to post here, where to my knowledge, Mickey never did. To me it's just harrasment
In the spring/summer of 2013 somebody posted where Broaddus said a specific player was terrible in the previous training camp.

I said that was impossible because that player was injured for all but a few days of training camp.

Broaddus replied that I was making excuses for the player.

What name did he post under, and when did he leave.
And it isn't harassment, even if Mickey never posted here, he took / takes far more uncalled for abuse and harassment than Broaddus ever has.

Looks like last training cap was when he stopped posting. I think he often took message board posts a little bit too much to heart.

I was at practice Thursday. I agree that Scandrick looks slow. Injury would make sense. Or he just doesn't have his legs under him.

Probably.

The funny thing will be when people shove Parnell down his throat after Parnell blows monkey balls this year.

Jaguars are in love with Parnell just to keep you informed. Jags think both him and Linder make the oline legit as Beadles last year regressed. Their consensus was that Parnell played nearly flawlessly over the last 8 games behind both Free and Smith(I know just quoting what they think). You might be premature with your passionate hatred for Parnell.

Broaddus has been very critical of Randy Gregory, he was noticably disgruntled when we drafted him. It is refreshing to see him becoming a fan and not talking about his "lack of moves".

Broaddus is much more right than wrong. If you make prognostications early on in camp you're going to miss some. He's only giving you want he sees at the time and if people considered the context they'd likely be less judgmental.

The few times I've talked to him he's been right on although pretty succinct which probably reflects how busy he is. Of course I only ask him specific questions about players problems and technique. And no I don't know him personally and all this is via media and not phone.
