He thinks D Line is where we'll be looking @ pick 9..

Thinks it wouldn't be outrageous for Peterson to go #1.

He's heard from scouts Peterson is a rare returner.

If Peterson isn't there as of now i'd really like to trade down and use our trade down compensation as ammo to move back in the 1st with our 2nd rounder and have 2 first round picks.

Maybe grab a Von Miller and Gabe Carimi.

Ugh. That's depressing. Defensive linemen are almost never worth top picks.

That's where the depth and value is at our spot so it's very possible.

I caught him on the radio the other day and he was relaying info from demitrof (falcons GM) who came on with him last week and he said that this draft is loaded with 3-4 defensive players. Lineman and linebackers and that is good for us.

The problem is everyone seems to be playing this defense and looking for the same players, so that is tough.

can i haz one of dem big boys up front on the oline from wisconsin? please?

That's where I would go. It's where the value is and where we're certainly going to have a huge need after Spears/Hatcher/Bowen free agency situation falls out. Not to mention n Igor "The Dancing Queen" could be released.

Plus, if we're going to stick with a mediocre edge rusher like Spencer at the SOLB, we're going to have to get pressure from another position.

Safety is a huge need, but there's not an elite safety prospect in the draft .... in fact, safety is probably the worst position in the draft. Spending a Top 10 pick on a safety is questionable under the best situations, much less reaching for one.

If the guy makes a difference, I'm all for it.

I'd love for us finally draft some big nasty fat guys who aren't all glam and glitz. We've ignored OL and DL for way too long.

That said, Broaddus says that now...But it is January. This year last time we were gonna draft Mike Iupati

Anyone else got a bad feeling Leonard Davis will be here next season?

I just hope we don't waste a pick on some 3-4 DE who will be nothing more than a run stopper because for that high of a pick you need a 3-4 DE who can actually get to the passer as well and I don't think there is that type of elite player in this draft. I just don't see a Richard Seymour type.

IF IF we were going to go defense besides a DB, then at least get a great pass rushing player to play OLB in our scheme.

I don't think there is a player there that is going to be a richard seymour type player and I don't see a player there at NT that would be like a Ngata (sp?)

So it would be kind of depressing to see them take a Dline guy in the first unless they trade down a good bit to acquire more ammo to move up later to get a OL prospect.

I would rather just pay Spears to stay here to stop the run than draft one of these guys high in the first round who will wind up doing about the same thing.

that is the predicament the chiefs found themselves in two years ago in the draft. They ended up taking a 34 run stopper at number 3 in the draft cause they had to!

People would lose their minds if jerry did that and that was scott pioli that did that.

There are a handful of highly rated DL guys but in a 3-4 it wouldn't really be a great fit for us. It would make more sense to take the very best player at another position such at OT or LB.

My early handful of targets:
Prince
Gabe Carimi
Derrek Sherrod
Nate Solder
Stefen Wisniewski
Von Miller(contingent on moving on from Spencer)

I hope he is. It will be difficult to replace him. He had a terrible year, but we know he can have a great year too.

lol wake me up in march when this sort of speculation means anything other than "yo here is something broaddus pulled out his butt this morning, guys."

Realistically a trade down could very well be the way to go. Unfortunately it takes two to tango.

We need to get better at controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball so I guess I'm ok with it.

We need good players everywhere.

You have to view things realistically at some point man.

Not every player that isnt perfect here is going to be gone.

We cant change two guard spots, the right tackle, a running back, two safeties, two defensive lineman and a corner in one offseason I cant imagine.

I really think kosier will be resigned and davis and columbo will be at camp. We are not good enough behind them to just dump them.

Now like everyone else I hope we have viable guys ready to go when we get to minicamps or at the latest training camp, but I kind of think it is a pipe dream to think they would be flat gone. Its just too risky.
