Broncos Split On Pick.

I would be very wary of taking Dareus with a #2 pick. If you're taking a DL with the #2 pick, don't you want a little more production than 12.5 combined sacks, TFLs, and hurries? Seems rather pedestrian for a Top 3 pick. If you just want a pedestrian block absorber who's not going to make any big plays, might as well wait until the 2nd and take Phil Taylor.

Everyone thinks Phil Taylor is going in the first round now. Personally, I don't want him unless I can draft him in the 4th. I would draft Kenrick Ellis before I draft Taylor. I just don't like his work ethic or mentality.

I think Ellis fits the DE need better than Taylor does.

They are both losers. One has a drug problem the other is lazy. Neither should be drafted in the first 2 rounds.

Straight from my blackberry to Cowboyszone. Very trusted source says even day before draft Broncos not sure if Dareus or Patrick Peterson is the pick. DL depth in this draft making them lean towards Peterson.
Carolina may make that choice for them.

Truthfully Id be very surprised if they took pp. Not because of his talent but because of there rush defense. They are horrific and dareus could be the start of something good for them but I guess pp could be too

I honestly think the Broncos taking Patrick Peterson helps our team more in the long run.

I kind of hope they do. Remove the temptation for us to move up.

At 346lbs that would have to be the biggest DE I've ever seen. :laugh2:

I still say both will be gone by the 2 nd pick

I think Carolina takes - Dareous - why because Riveria was a D lineman and he knows the importance of a dominant D lineman - and lt me ask any one
would you want Newton as the face of your Franchise - I sure would not

pluse the can wait a year for QB

As it stands here are the top 8 prospects at QB for the 2012 draft based on a concensus of Scout.com, NFLDraftScout and Walter Football average rankings.
1. Andrew Luck, Stanford (Projected #1 overall)
2. Matt Barkley, USC (Projected top 5 pick)
3. Landry Jones, Oklahoma (Projected top 5 pick)
4. Nick Foles, Arizona (Projected late 1st/early 2nd round)
5. Terrelle Pryor, Ohio State (Projected early 2nd round)
6. Tyler Wilson, Arkansas (Projected mid 3rd round)
7. Kellen Moore, Boise State (Projected early 4th round)
8. John Brantley, Florida (Projected mid 4th round)

altho Fox likes a good D line -

so I see both of them gone by the second pick

Someone on NFLN made a decent argument last night I think it was about this very topic.

How you could justify rating a player higher if was also a dynamic returner. But then went on to say that if taken high enough that a team might be hesitant to play him in that role due to being afraid of him getting hurt. So it is an interesting argument.

I think we seen that used when Newman was taken as an added justification for the pick but then they rarely used him in that role.

But with Dez, taken lower, they threw him right into the mix in that role.

Just interesting.
:hammer:

I'm so sick of that "plus he has return skills" argument for the very reason you gave. If he has a role already on the team, chances are he won't be a return man for long. Too risky.

We were selective about when we used Deion there and it's only a matter of time before Dez is treated the same, like Newman has been too.

If I were Carolina, i'm taking AJ Green with the 1st pick. Developing QBs will do so much better with weapons around them and Steve Smith wants out of Carolina. Get a QB next year.

50 mill guaranteed on a rookie wide receiver is asking for trouble.

There are plenty of teams that would take Dareus

Buf
Cincy
AZ
Cle
SF

lol, that's every team after the broncos

He would fall no further than Tennessee. They may really like Dalton, but I'm almost positive they would take Dareus.
