I may be in the minority here but I absolutely do not want Payton as the next HC. If it's not McCarthy next year my first choice would be Quinn. Payton would cost too much draft capital that we need to secure the CB position and DT. JMHO

A first round pick and more for Sean Payton.

That ought to extinguish any flames for him around here.

I disagree, it depends how we end the season. if we get bounced next week in Tampa Bay, you can't tell me you'd still be confident in Mccarthy.

This team has ignored getting good coaches for years, sans parcells. Coaching is very important in this league.... A late first rounder? I'd give that up for Peyton with a chance he could take us over the hump.

Again we'll see what happens the next couple weeks though.

Payton will get $20+ million a year. Plus the team has to give up draft picks. Jerry will never agree to that

Nor do I think he should

If you look at their records, Payton and McCarthy are clones of each other

Exactly, plus the Broncos are a trainwreck as it is.

Isn't next year the last year Sean Peyton is with the Saints? Don't teams just have to wait one year, then hire him?

I do not see Payton taking the job. There will be better options out there. I do see Quinn going to Denver.

Not sure if I’d want that job if I were Payton…Wilson is not the same player and terrible draft capital to work with.

Maybe if the Chargers go one and done in the playoffs they get fed up with Staley and let him go…he should’ve got them there sooner than he did with their roster. They would be a better fit for Payton

The Broncos are already deep in the hole after that horrible Wilson trade. They mortgaged their future drafts and married themselves cap wise to a QB who's best days are clearly behind him. And now they want to go deeper in the hole by coughing up a first and more for Payton. How would Payton build anything? Seems like it would be guaranteed to be a dumpster fire for at least the next 3 to 5 years.

Payton has basically the same resume as Big Mike. I'll keep my double digit win seasons and a double cheeseburger to go baby

What draft picks does Denver have left to trade with? lol

(this was a rhetorical question)

The first round pick they got from the Bradley Chubb trade. Not sure if it would be enough though (or worth it since its all they have in a rebuild).

That was a rhetorical answer btw.

I don't care if we lose 40-0, I'm not trading a 1st round pick and more for a head coach no more successful than the one I have now.
