I never thought it would play out like this when I said it yesterday. LOL.
Dallas didn't draft WR3 at 17.Bro, why you calling people dumb?
First of all, literally every mock draft in existence had Lamb as a top 10 pick.
Second of all, the Eagles tried to trade up to pick 11 to get Lamb but at the last moment decided the cost was too high, they apparently had to throw in next year's 1st. So the Eagles had him rated in the top 10 as well.
Third, the Cowboys had Lamb graded out as the 6th best player in the entire draft.
What you are not realizing my friend is that Dallas didnt draft a WR3, they drafted a WR1 that can play as a WR3 or as a WR1 because that is what he did at Oklahoma. Want proof? He scored 7 TDs lined up at slot and he scored 7 TDs lined up outside last year, so he can do both.

Well, in fairness, I don't think anyone in the media and the Cowboys FO/scouting department anticipated Lamb being available at their pick.

There was a mock or 2 that had lamb going to Dallas actuallyWell, in fairness, I don't think anyone in the media and the Cowboys FO/scouting department anticipated Lamb being available at their pick.
Just to be clear Lamb is maybe a slot WR, mostly a movement Z, and not a X receiver. Maybe this will help. I argued for a WR if none of Kinlaw, or Henderson were on the menu. You will enjoy this talent that has fallen into our laps.Dallas didn't draft WR3 at 17.
Had that been the pick it would have been DUMB.
But it wasn't.
They picked a future WR1 at 17.

I understand you want him to be all things but he is not. No matter how you want to spin him, slot and movement z is where he stands above everyone else, as an x he is easily defensible IMO and does not allow his natural talent to create advantages. Watched him every game at Oklahoma, we got a steal but Jack of all trades and master of all is not in his resume. Like buying a 911 Porsche and taking it to the drag strip. He might end up being the best WR in the last twenty five years to be on the boys team, TO, Mike Sherrard, Michael Irvin, Terry Glenn, Dez, he stands with all these guys toe to toe and then some.McCarthy: “The first thing that comes to mind when I think of him is that he’s dynamic. His ability to step into the offense and play all four positions at the wide receiver slot. I think he is a natural fit for how we want to play offense. He is dynamic with the ball in his hands. I really enjoy the way he goes after the football. We are very, very excited about his addition to the offense.”

It's a waste of time discussing if you are going to disregard what McCarthy says about fit in his own offense.
You are arguing with his direct statement.
Anyone that watched Lamb at OU saw him play all 4 WR spots in that Air Raid.
He ran short and deep crosses, slants, flies, WR screens and post patterns from X.
He was deadly in the slot and even ran jet sweeps and other things as they got the best play-maker the ball from every area possible.
I promise I know Lincoln Riley and the Air Raid better than you do.
As to how he will be used it is pretty logical he will be taught the slot and the X first.
He will be the back up to Cooper in 2 WR sets and move out when they want Cooper to play slot.
In 2 years he is likely WR1 and the X when they don't want to pay Cooper 20+ M in years 3/4/5 of his 100m deal.
The first words out of Will McClay's mouth yesterday when asked about Lamb being their at 17 were "he can play all 3 positions".I am not trying to persuade you, he is exceptional at two WR positions the others are pedestrian for him. I understand he can play them but what is the point. I will be very disappointed if he is majorly positioned as the x receiver. Love your thoughts and enjoy reading your posts.
Nice call....

Sorry for the delay in answering, we just disagree about what a x WR talent is at this point, Lamb is a savant at moving z and slot at this point in his development, yes he can occasionally graze at the X position but as an asset his talents lay elsewhere. Let me see if I can find someone who can describe it more eloquently and probably in your mind has higher esteem than myself,The first words out of Will McClay's mouth yesterday when asked about Lamb being their at 17 were "he can play all 3 positions".
What skills are you looking for in an X that you don't see with Lamb?
The only WR I though was a surefire WR1 in this draft is CeeDee Lamb.Yeah bc the WRs that are projected to go top 15-20 are usually wr3s
Enough w your nonsense..stop trying to back pedal...you were wrong..give up already
