This would be a good time to nail down what Micah will want. IMO, Micah is not worth the same money as Garrett. First Micah is not a DE 100% of the time. 2nd, he is not as good as Garrett has been, before the shouting starts, this is not a dig on Micah. He is a great player. But Garrett is a better all around player. Do I think Garrett is worth $40 million? No. and neither is Micah. But the Browns seem to be like Jerry when it comes to managing their money. I would have traded Garrett before paying him $40 million per year. The Browns are still ho-tied with Watson's contract and he may never play another down for them.
I was hoping they would sign Micah for $35 million. Now I think Micah will get $40 million too. Because Jerry is stupid when it comes to doing deals, and Jerry seems to like claiming he has the highest paid players at their positions on his team - as if what he pays them makes them as good as what he pays them.
I've said it before, there is always one irresponsible owner will to overpays a player and set the market for everyone else. That's why if you have a player you want to retain it is best to sign him early before the next irresponsible owner gets a chance to bid on your player.
