Browns give Myles Garrett a new deal

And guess what would follow soon afterwards....... $1500.00 a seat tickets. The NFL would be digging their own grave if they keep letting the salaries spiral out of control any worse than they are already.
NFL makes billions. As long as fans will buy a 1500 seat they will sell it. They know they are printing money. These little contracts these guys get are nothing especially since most of them aren’t even guaranteed. The owners laugh to the bank every year even the crappiest teams.

If I’m Cleveland I’m drafting Cam Ward. Watson won’t be ready any time soon. Cleveland is the land of QB failures but keep trying at least.
It’s easy for me to say this
Behind my phone I don’t have billions invested but I’d honestly suck again if I were them. This is not the draft for them IMO to look at qb.

It would be in the league's best interest to cap individual position's salaries. You can't put the best product on the field, if 2 or 3 players are eating 75% of your salary cap.

I’m really curious as to what kind of trade value he would have. Probably a lot… But when I put my GM hat on, how much is Micah worth at an average an annual value of 40+ million.

If we can find someone that would give us two first rounders… Someone that maybe is a fringe contender… So the possibility that they might crater and the first rounder is high…. I would move Micah in a heartbeat. But hey, I want us to embrace the pain… So we can be serious contenders in a couple years. Trade Mica… Trade Dak… embrace the pain.
Cant trade Dak because our idiot GM gave him a no trade clause in addition to making him the highest paid player in the entire NFL

Now we are about to do the same with Parsons and i bet he will not only be the highest paid non QB but will have a no trade clause

Micah ain’t better than him. If he gets 40. 36 more that evough Micah. Even that too much. I’m trading Micah if I was in charge.
Agree. Garrett is overall a much better player. He can flat out not only rush the passer, he is also dominant at stopping the run.

Ask yourself why would Parsons sign before Garrett and Crosby?

It’s the agent’s priority to get a deal done as soon as possible. At any moment a player could drop in play of or sustain major injury. Even if Micah wanted to wait, the team can force the issue. We never got a report that Micah refused to extend with the Cowboys, just that Jerry wanted to wait and Micah was content with that.

Even if you genuinely believe his agent told him not to engage in contract talks until 2025 despite the risks, Micah himself said it should get done before free agency:

So what are we waiting for? Why didn’t it get done before Garrett or Crosby? This isn’t the first time Jerry has done this. Micah’s price went up by 5m$ a year in a week, when his deal should have been done in February.

He made the claim that there isn’t a big difference between 30 and 40, but that was when the highest paid guy was making 34. Now that it’s 40, Micah may not be hellbent in setting the market, but does anyone believe Micah would still only take 30?

There is no financial benefit for Dallas to drag their feet. Theres half a dozen guys on this team now that could have saved them 20+m$ in total cap space every year if they just did the deal 1-2 years sooner. This is actually nuts

Laughing......Again this shows FANS that MONEY is far, far, FAR more important to players and owners than winning. Winning comes after the money. After making these threats and wanting a trade to a Superbowl contending team, Cleveland throws $$$$ @ Miles Garrett and he shuts his mouth and grabs the money tree. Just as our GM/Owner Jerry Jones, who can't produce a single NFC Conference game in 30 years, Jerry is into the MONEY angle than the WINNING angle. So Mr. Garrett will eventually end his career, like Zack Martin, with never playing in a conference game but hey, the players can buy their own ring and have far more cash left over. Their life is set.

I am in favor of trading Parsons as I believe that breaking the bank for another player is not going to make the difference. The combination of Dak, Lamb, Parsons, and Martin while they were on reasonable contracts didn't produce any long runs in the playoffs. Parsons is likely going to command $40 million minimum. We just signed OSA for $20 million. Use the other $20 million to go after Nick Bolton and a DT (Poona Ford). Trade Parsons to a team with a top-15 pick - probably could get their 1st and 2nd. Imagine if we had two 1st round picks in the top-15 and two picks in the top-15 of the 2nd round. Draft Mykel Williams (DE) from Georgia and Will Johnson (CB) from Michigan. With the two picks in the 2nd round we could pick best available from any combination of RB, WR, LB, S, OL, even a QB.

This happened because Cleveland’s front office and owner told him they would never trade him and would franchise tag him to death if necessary. Cleveland does not want to set a precedent for dissatisfied star players getting away from the team. Myles knew sitting out does no good on a team that is okay with going 4-12 instead of 8-9.

The Cowboys are terrified with that last sentence scenario which is why they make the decisions they do. They will of course sign Micah Parsons and they could easily have extended him before now. They typically drag out these contracts for maximum media coverage. I enjoy the fans here that think that the Cowboys are somehow closer to any of their goals with Garrett not ending up with Philly or Washington. That is a riot!

Look at the Lamb deal. Soon as Jefferson signed Lamb got done. Same for Dak. It’s no coincidence.

You are giving them too much credit. They just gave him 40 million lol. Myles had no intentions of wanting to go anywhere he wanted more money.

If Micah gives the Cowboys a discount it still would be 39 million a season. Wow!!! Stephen threw up in his mouth. The Cleveland Browns owner has pissed off every owner in the league once again.

I agree, but does that mean Jerry just doesn’t want to be known as the guy who set the market, only as the one who followed it… no matter the cost? Lamb really should have been done after year 3: 900 yards, 1100 yards, 1300 yards. He was a pro bowl #1 receiver who would’ve gotten mid/high 20’s in annual salary in 2022. But they waited a year, he put up 1700 yards, and now he have the right to ask for Jefferson money

I think the Cowboys take it as a point of pride in paying their own FAs at the top for their positions.
I don’t know if you are joking but i think that could be the case. Never thought of it but they like dominating headlines and it probably makes them feel good to say a Cowboy is the highest player ever. Pathetic.

I honestly don’t know. To me it makes
Sense for a guy to wait until the absolute last minute to get paid. They have nothing to lose. If they get hurt they will still
Be highly paid.
