Brady Quinn update
http://chicagosports.chicagotribune...enfl,1,5255911.column?coll=cs-bears-headlines

Former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn has not taken a snap in his rookie season with the Browns. But behind the scenes, the team is happy with the first-round pick, and even would consider letting him compete for the starting job next season if they decide to trade restricted free agent Derek Anderson.

The Browns have taken the unusual step of giving Quinn about 20 percent of the reps in practice each week.

"He has something about him that you like," Browns offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski said. "You can see leadership and competitiveness. He's an extremely bright guy. He's a gym rat. He's always around the building."

And...

Now that we know what the Browns pick is, I go back to not knowing or caring about what they do.

Yep, Winslow dropped an easy TD in the Endzone.... I would trade Anderson and go from their, they can get a 1st for him right now.....

They will put the 1 and 3 on Anderson and take the picks. Its a gamble but they have some serious holes in their D that they have to fill if they want to really challenge for the SB.

if the Browns think they know where Quinn is at, they could re-coup their 1st round pick at least

but I think they would be foolish to trade Anderson, let Quinn sit for a couple of years

They would be better served to try and trade Quinn. Anderson is the real deal and will be a top-10 QB for many years to come. Brady Quinn is the most overhyped prospect to come out of college for a long time. If he were fer real someone would have taken him long before the Browns did.

If I'm not mistaken, Dan Pompei is a Notre Dame fan which would explain the opinion.

That said, the Browns are not known for being the sharpest team in the league.

this is my thought also, thump. anderson has done very well in getting this team to where it is. the cap is going up, pay the man and have (2) solid qb's on your roster, worst case. after watching johnson play yesterday i hope to GOD we upgrade backup qb this off-season. i simply would do medieval things to myself if i had to watch him play extended periods.

browns should keep the known and keep riding the wave.

That's just nuts. Trade Quinn. Anderson is just 24 and he got the job done. Give him some more weapons and some support.

I seriously doubt they'll get a 1st round pick for Anderson...

why not? he had a great year. maybe parcells should give up their 2nd rounder (32nd pick) and get him. i think though miami took a qb prospect last year but i'd give up the 32nd pick for him in a heartbeat. *if* we needed a qb.

They need to let this play out for another year -- Me, I'd tender Anderson at the maximum rate and see what happens next year.

i said this one and got keelhauled. although i did say "legitimate" weapons if i recall correctly. braylon is much better than i realized but they don't have muich behind him at WR and nothing spectacular at RB. overall the browns are a team on the rise and i'd not give it up for quinn.

Anderson wins 10 games and they are going to trade him?

To play an untested pedigre QB? THE BIGGEST MISTAKE TO MAKE IS TO COMPOUND THE MISTAKE WITH A SECOND MISTAKE.

Bring them both back and let Quinn try and win starting job.

It could happen. Only we trade for future number ones with teams that are supposed to suck and then do well.It works for everyone else.
