I don't understand the Browns' strategy there - but it affects my Cowboys, like, how?

I actually talked to a vet who was in the room when McAuliffe got that note. All he did was drop it, say "Nuts" and shake his head. He was going out to congratulate a unit that had stopped a german attack. When he got back he was told he had to give some kind of answer. That is when one of the staff suggested that his first answer would be hard to top.

Rumor has it there maybe a three way trade involving the Brown, Dolphins, and Cowboys.

That's just nuts. Trade Quinn. Anderson is just 24 and he got the job done. Give him some more weapons and some support.

yea somebody at the browns front office read this and made the montgomery burns excellent voice.

stuff like this will make quinn's value go up.

Trading either of those two QB's and having it be the wrong move would totally destroy their franchise for several years minimum.

They aren't that stupid...they'll keep both guys. Anderson is where Romo was last year. They'll want to see him do it again. If he proves to be the man, they sign him to a long term deal and then trade Quinn after making sure he has a great preseason.

But nothing will happen with those guys this coming year. They were a playoff caliber team that no one wanted to see in the playoffs this year...they have free agency and the draft to address some of their defensive concerns.

Obviously the Dolphins get Anderson. But why would the Browns need us or the Dolphins need us in the deal?

They would be better served to try and trade Quinn. Anderson is the real deal and will be a top-10 QB for many years to come. Brady Quinn is the most overhyped prospect to come out of college for a long time. If he were for real someone would have taken him long before the Browns did.
I couldn't agree more.

You have to stick with the known commodity.

Exactly. Why is this in the fan forum? This is just random nfl news at this point. Who cares what the browns do at quarterback?

The Browns have a very good Starting QB...a solid, but untested 1st round backup....

They have 2 very good WRs in Edwards and JJ, as well as a very good TE in Winslow.

They have a good veteran RB in Lewis, but could use some depth behind him....

They have a very nice OL and K.

They have one of the better KRs in the NFL.

I say they need to focus on defense in the draft, with maybe an OL who can play muliple positions.

Honestly, if I am the Browns, I would go after Julius and pair him up with Lewis. However, I am not sure JJ would go there and deal with being a partial player again.

He has all the weapons he needs. What he needs is a defense...

I'd get him a younger RB and support would be Defense.

If I'm not mistaken, Dan Pompei is a Notre Dame fan which would explain the opinion.

That said, the Browns are not known for being the sharpest team in the league.

Anderson is very streaky. I think Quinn will be better in the next year or so. He looked really good in the snaps he took Sunday, and had two TD's dropped, one by Winslow and one by Edwards. More importantly, the stadium came apart when he took the field. Don't think that isn't important to a team like the Browns.

Drew Henson looked good for a meaningless drive too. And he's out of football.

It was in the second quarter when Anderson hurt his hand. He drove them down the field and had two TD's dropped. Ended up with a FG.
