Browns trade Eagles #2 overall pick

What if the Eagles moved up to grab Elliot? Or Jack? It doesn't necessarily mean that they are for sure going to draft a QB. Just my 2 cents

There is no way they make a move like this to not get a QB. This is a move you make for someone you think can be your QB for the next decade. None of the others are worth this type of move. Unless they are going the route Ditka did with the Saints to get Ricky Williams, which set them back a few years to recover.

I'm going by what is reported that the coaching staff is pushing for Zeke and the scouts and front office is pushing for Bosa or Ramsey.

Never a good idea to let the coaches decide....1. that's why you have a front office; 2. that's why you pay scouts year-round.
If you aren't going to listen to them, don't hire them.

That said, I doubt the reports of anything we're hearing are true. The Cowboys have done a masterful job making everyone think we have interest in Ramsey, Bosa, Elliott, Jack, Goff, Wentz, even the next two DE's.....We paved the way to at least entertain trade offers for anyone.

Going QB confirmed

Eagles executive VP of football operations Howie Roseman confirmed Philadelphia will select a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 draft.

It'll be either North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz or Cal QB Jared Goff. "Only way you can make this trade is if you're totally comfortable with both guys," Roseman said after executing the trade with the Browns. It's possible the Eagles have spoken with the Rams and have intel on which quarterback they'll be taking at No. 1. Signs point to Goff going to L.A. and Wentz to Philly.

Collins biggest weakness, even at OG, was his pass protection. I don't see him ever moving out to tackle. Frankly, while Tunsil is considered the ideal LT, he's not known for his power and run blocking. If drafted him, I think we'd move Smith back to RT....we just can't afford to pay two LTs on one team, along with 3 big time interior guys....eventually, someone is likely to be allowed to walk over salary anyway, even without Tunsil in the mix.

Move Smith from LT to RT to then move Tunsil to LT?

I don't think there's a frog's chance in hell they'd move Smith from LT even if they took Tunsil.

I don't think Cleveland is done. We might be witnessing the DePodesta Effect.

Auhh...... Latin.

DePodesta - To invest in a ponzi scheme, a form of fraud in which belief in the success of a nonexistent enterprise is fostered by the payment of quick returns to the first investors from money invested by later investors.

Chargers talking about trading No. 3 pick. Trading of top 3 picks in same draft has happened 3x in modern draft era. 1967 1975 1997

Yeah, I have NO doubt the Chargers are talking to teams about trading down....given what the Rams and Eagles gave up. Problem is, I DOUBT there is a team left that stupid to come close to what either of those dumpster fire organizations did. LOL

For all of you angry about this trade...

We are the R*dskins.
That's what we are now, guys. Build through free agency. Throw away the future for an unknown. Pederson = Jim Zorn. Howie = whatever dope was the GM there. Lurie = Snyder without the business acumen. I hope Wentz turns out to be an all pro, because otherwise we will be mediocre (at best) for a long time.

The only difference I see is the Rams had the picks to play with and they have a pretty solid team that had no QB, Beagles did not have the picks to play with and do not have a solid team.

Ummmm............. there have been tweets saying that teams likely won't jump to 4 for Tunsil because most know it's unlikely the Cowboys would take him anyway.

I think what might have once been a position of strength at 4 is no longer that. We kind of are pigeon holed at this point.

If your a team who likes Tunsil and the draft is loaded with them, starting at 6, you might still be interested in trading up. Ravens are taking Tunsil if he gets there and the Giants really want Stanley as a consolation prize. I think that there is still a lot of value there.

Yeah, sure you would be interested in trading up.......................... you just better hope Jax isn't open to trading the 5th pick. Teams don't need to trade with us if Jax is open to moving. We likely aren't a threat to take Tunsil.

it was no secret that the Eagles were trying to move up...obviously we didn't feel the need to get a franchise qb at this time. we could've moved up to #2 for far less than what the Eagles gave up.

How so? Cleveland wanted to maximize the value of the deal -- just because we are the the #4 spot doesn't mean they would simply accept less from us for the #2 pick. In other words, we might have offered less...but that doesn't mean anything.

I don't think there's a frog's chance in hell they'd move Smith from LT even if they took Tunsil.

The reasoning is because Tunsil has always played LT and isn't strong run blocker. Smith had never played LT before being drafted...he was a career RT for USC and is a great run blocker. That's what I think would happen, but again, I don't think there's a chance in hell we draft Tunsil no matter what happens.
