The last thing this team needs is another WR.

Probably. See above. But if another Dez came along and he was clearly better than any other pick then I'd have to consider it. Give me a Julio Jones yada along side Dez and I'd be tempted.

josh gordon is an extremely talented young wide receiver. He also has a really cheap contract for another 2 years. But the dude is one failed test away from a YEAR-LONG suspension. A second round pick is pretty risky for a guy with his kind of off the field issues.

we put up 48 points without him....we gave up 51 points without him.....I think if we gave up a 2nd rounder, I would want to improve the defense more than I would want to improve the offense

A 2nd is not a steal. That is a high price for a guy who cannot be trusted. In 5 years we will look back and say Josh who?

Wait. Give up a second rounder next year for yet another receiver? So we use a third in 2013 and a 2 nd in 2014 on one of the positions we least need? When this teams desperate for defensive line help? Are you kidding me? We have plenty of talent on the offense. This team needs to keep every pick it has next year and use every single one of them on both lines. And then find some key free agents for the line!

this is exactly the way I would hope we do it but problem is we know that won't happen, Jerry will be distracted by something shiny and waste a pick or three

He's a great young talent at a position that isn't of need.

Sorry but we don't need a guy who 1) is 1 step away from getting a lengthy league suspension for his off the field stupidity and 2) he's going to want a nice contract in the very near future. In case folks have forgotten, and I'm sure the OP would love to, we have this kid named Bryant. You might have heard of him. He's a better WR than Gordon, and a large majority of the WR's in the league, and he's going to be needing a nice new deal soon.

On top of that this team desperately HAS TO HAVE D-Line help. Giving up a 2nd round pick for a luxury that is not needed on offense would be absolutely stupid.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Browns would like a second-round pick in return. Gordon's talent is worth a first-rounder, but that's not all that goes into the equation. If it were, the odds would be extremely low the Niners could find a player as good in the first round of next May's draft.

Can he play DE or DT?

I like Gordon but I have to say that i'd pass.

We need to keep bringing in linemen on both sides of the ball.

I'll trade a 2nd rounder for a stud DL but not a WR at this point.

If Terrance Williams turns into a homerun hitter then there is no need for Gordon anyways because Gordon is really nothing more than a homerun threat at this point.

I'm pretty happy with our WR's. And I like that we started spreading out Witten out wide. While Escobar takes some flak for the interception, I liked what I saw out of him as well. There were a couple of plays where he lined up out-wide, got up the field quickly and cleared out the deep safety and gave the receiver plenty of room for an easy catch.

The issue for next year offensively is that Hanna is worthless we should really consider a fullback and probably stop worrying about how well a fullback can play on special teams. I think this team is far more effective in 11 personnel. Sprinkle some Escobar and 12 personnel there on occasion.

But, we need better play from Leary. Hopefully we get it as he gains experience. And we need a guard to take over for Waters when he's done.

Jerry get on the phone, see if you can get him for a third round pick in next years draft. Miles probably wont be back next year.

I hope you are correct
I don't want him on the niners

I would hate to have them end up with for a 3rd or 4th

Right, not only we he be good for the Cowboys (third round pick) but keep him out of the hands of other teams.

"It's been speculated for weeks that the market value for Gordon simply isn't there considering he has only one strike left prior to a year-long suspension. But what has come to light since is the impact he brings to the team. The Browns are 3-0 since his return and Gordon has averaged over 100 yards receiving in those games, adding two touchdowns on top of that."

I don't think he fits a need and is not the RKG. Although talented, he is not worth the risk. We need to see if Beasley can play the position or look for a slot receiver.
