This guy was all over the field today... He and Anthony Spencer are playing on another level right now.

I agree about Bruce.

But Almost Anthony is wearing thin with me.

spencer is playing excellent. two straight weeks he gets a sack and strip in the 4th quarter. He also plays good position in the short passing game.

Bruce Carter is a beast. One thing this organization has done right was draft Carter.

Yea, I have no idea what two deep is watching.

I'm not sure what he's been seeing either, Spencer has been ballin this year.

I can hack the eight million since it ain't my money.

But his attitude that he deserves Ware money more than over the top for me.

Playing pretty good on this team isn't enough.

Considering he's a major reason why the defense is top 5 I'd say his performance has been pretty stout.

Say what?? Anthony Spencer has been a very consistent football player this season.. Look, his strength isn't rushing the passer, what do you not understand about that?? He makes up for it in so many other areas though.. He is a top defender against the run and did you see him lay out Richardson at the start of the 3rd quarter coming across the field, force a fumble and recovered it, sure Weeden held onto it a bit long but still got there.. He drops into zone very well and made a play on the ball not only today, but picking the ball off in Philly when Foles thought the flat was wide open that was called back due to a ticky tack hold by MO...

I love Carter, but I didn't notice him that much today as the OP stated

This is a hold-over from the Bradie James era. I see him as I saw James. Close but no cigar.

But it's okay for me to not like him. Promise.

Dallas is in a tough spot with Spencer. You don't want to pay him franchise money, but he's definitely part of this significant defensive improvement. You likely can't pay everybody.

For the record...I think Spencer has played pretty good. I think it will come down to dollars?

But you are making a point I CONSTANTLY made about Bradie James....and everyone was defending this guy. He was here forever. He never made a Pro Bowl. We did not win. But people defended him constantly. Said things like "you cannot have steak at every position". But I kept saying the guy does NOT make any impact plays...and if you watch successful 3-4 defenses...you have to have guys that make plays. So we plug Sean Lee in....a guy who makes impacting plays....and Mr Average Bradie James name is never mentioned around here anymore.

Spencer does make impacting plays....but not nearly as many as Ware....so he cannot get Ware money. Maybe 65% of what Ware makes...but that would be as high as I go.

i think spencer is playing better this year than in the past

This pretty much.

Not everbody can get a top 5-10 at their position just because they are a Dallas Cowboy anymore with the salary cap.

Ware, Carr, Ratliff, and Scanrick are all getting top 10 type of contracts for their positions. Sean Lee and likely Carter are also likely in line for similar contract extensions down the road.

Sorry, this isn't the old days where you get to keep everybody. Tough decisions need to be made. I suspect Spencer will be gone quite simply because the Cowboys can't afford to pay him the money he'll get from someone else.
