16. Dallas Cowboys -- Roquan Smith LB Georgia

The Cowboys are a very different team when Sean Lee is on the injury report, and Anthony Hitchens is a free-agent-to-be, putting linebacker high on Dallas' offseason wish list. Although a tick undersized, Smith is a magnet to the ball with the athleticism and instincts that translate well to the pro game.

Hard to complain about taking a LB that is slotted about that area.

I think some people are only looking at a few spots to draft in the first.

I think we can draft all but a few spots in the first.

This team needs help on both sides of the ball and in multiple areas.

I am just hoping that a good player falls to us.

Saw Roquan Smith in Dane's mock and Derwin James in another mock today. The idea of getting a speedy, athletic playmaker on defense at least offers some light at the end of this meh season (so far).

I would be absolutely THRILLED with this pick. He's exactly what this defense doesn't have and is exactly what this defense needs.

While if it played out that way, LBer would not be a terrible choice.
But looking at all the players after our pick - man, there are at least 7 players I would consider first.
Hurst - DT/DE
Harrison - SS Enforcer !
Landry - DE
Payne - DT (Suh lite) pet cat.
Wilkens - DT
Ferrell - DE
Vea - DT

Yes, the current roster lacks Star players, especially at WR and on defense.

Many didn't think RB was a need but now they can't function without Zeke because he is a Star player.

Love LB Smith but we need someone to take over as #1 WR too, preferably someone with some deep speed.
