Bryan Broaddus

Say good things about the Cowboys.

Also dont make a fake name and come back after youve been banned

I wouldn't have guessed the "say good things about the Cowboys" was a rule in a million years here if you hadn't just told me.

Seems like 90 percent of the board should be on the lookout for the banhammer.

I think it's funny people bash him.

I wonder if people would bash him if he didn't read or check this site out.

Once Broaddus said "Romo is not a franchise QB", that told me all I needed to know right there.

Only a complete dumb arse would say something like that, no wonder he got his arse fired from being a scout.

I didn't even know he came here till the other day when he sent me some PM with a snarky response cause I don't agree with, or like, his stuff.

But, hey, if people like him and listen to him that's cool. There is nothing wrong with that. Everyone has their fans and such. I have listened to a small portion of his show on the radio a few times (every time I heard DCFanatic on it and would then quit listening) but I've never read any of his articles and I don't see any reason why I would going forward.

Dont waste your time, his "inside info" is pure crap. If he doesnt think Romo is a franchise QB, I really dont know why anybody would bother reading his dribble.

Its one thing.. you've been beating it like a dead horse.

How accurate has he been about his other statements and predictions?

I dont know about posts he makes but that was from a PM he sent me cause I said I didn't listen to his stuff.

Broaddus pays attention to details that the regular run of reporters rarely pick up. Remember the 'Coaches detail plays' session where the Dallas media was astounded at what all went into play planning?

Doesn't mean his opinions are accurate, just that they are more likely to be informed. I think he was wrong on Romo and on Beuhler too.

If you show me a Scout who claims to have been 100% accurate in his player estimation, I will show you a liar of inestimable proportions. Given what I have read about the workload of the usual NFL scout, working the media is probably a lot less tiresome.

What are the rules in this place?

Really, there are only two:

1) Bear is always right...

2) If, on occasion, Bear happens to be wrong, refer to rule 1...

Well, he said Garrett was not really respected by the Cowboys brass and we'd go with a proven winner.

Looks to me like he's batting way below the Mendoza line.

Seems like alot on here don't agree..

I don't follow the guy alot, but i really only ever hear about the 2 or 3 things he's been wrong about out of the hundreds of opinions he's given.

Rule number 1. You don't talk about Cowboyszone.

Rule number 2. You don't talk about Cowboyszone!

I like Bryan Broaddus. I've been on dc's radio show with him. Nice guy. Breaks things down very well.

There is no hard, fast rule that everyone has to like everyone. Heck I like JJT a lot. Most on here do not. I like Mickey. I remember when he was the most hated man in DFW because he spoke his mind about a certain QB.

No one is always right. No one is always wrong.

I think this is about as far as we can carry it. As a former scout, Broaddus has knowledge of how the process works, what teams look for, etc.

If you concentrate on that aspect of what he says, he can give insight other media can't. That makes his opinion more informed, but it's still just an opinion and can be faulty.

I think he's knocked more than he deserves to be, but part of the reason for that is that people don't think as a former scout his opinion should be faulty. In that sense, he's held to a higher standard.

Spot on.

Seriously, we all know that scouting is an exact science right?

Also gotta love how folks want to portray him as some baffoon because he's gotten the axe as an NFL scout. Little do they know that scouting staffs often get the boot whenever a new coaching staff comes into play, which in this league is often.

I think some folks just like to get their rocks off on bashing a guy who worked in the NFL at a position where your opinion matters. When he's been wrong or off about something, which every scout is and will be inevitably, they jump on it with the mob mentality of some third-world nation street thugs.

Only in the world of internet message boards will you have some mechanic, attorney, shipping & receivings worker, shelf-stocker, cashier, run-of-the-mill Cowboy fan calling a guy who's been hired multiple times by NFL teams an idiot.

Let me make this clear. I'm sure he's a really nice guy, and that there are things he knows his stuff on. From what I've seen from him, or heard from him, he strikes me as being pretty much just like about 80% of the rest of the media and likes to stir the pot and such, so I don't really value his opinions or anything very highly.

That isn't a knock on him cause I don't value the opinions of very many people in the media cause most of them are all about ratings and saying whatever they think will get the most listeners, hits, or whatever.

So he does his thing and that's good for him. I just don't read his stuff, or have only listened to his show a few times, and I change the channel off of Galloway and Company when he's coming on cause I simply don't have any interest in listening to him.

Now don't get me wrong cause I dont agree with everything Galloway or that goofball Mosley says either but I do enjoy listening to those guys to some degree.
