Bryan Broaddus

Just FYI, Spags doesn't really write much for DC.COM. Eatman seems to have taken his place.

Re: Broaddus, I think someone hit the nail on the head with suggesting listening to Broaddus versus reading his work.

He's not a trained journalist and it's gotta be difficult to translate his knowledge and expertise to something the layman can understand. Writing an official scouting report for a NFL team is alot different than writing articles for a mass audience who is not near as informed as the dumbest fan we have on the Zone (ie Yeager).

I think his Scouts Eye articles contain some pretty good nuggets of info, but he could prolly take a tip from Sturm's Decoding Jason Garrett blogs on what sorta detail that would appease the diehards.

Oh, I'm not saying he's in line for a Pulitzer or anything.

I think he offers insight the other journalists cannot and I've found it refreshing.

If ever I wanted dcf back it's right now. He could not handle criticism at all. But if you criticize his media pals he was even more intense. This one would have been business for the old Reaper.

That's a classic.

He got banned?

I don't agree with him all the time. But he doesn't make some good points. I think dcf, and his association with him, gave him a bad name on here...just because of how abrasive dcf can be to those who disagree with him.

On top of that, it doesn't really lend your journalistic integrity much when you don't cite any of your work.

Having said that, I still think dcf's heart is in the right place. And I'm not going to jump on board with Broadus being a troll.

.

Hey.

I represent that comment.

BB is fine for the most part, and usually good on the radio. His shows after 7:00 with fewer ads and more pure talk are some of his best work IMO. It's some of these PMs that people have gotten that explain people's attitudes toward him. In fact, I'll cut him a break and say it's likely that someone hacked his account.

I don't have a problem with any of his stuff.... Everyone can have an opinion.

Problem is ... if your opinion is not with the norm in this forum, you are a "troll" and should have your Cowboys fan club card stripped immediately.

Feh, who cares. Me thinks he shouldn't let the fans get to his ego. Let him do his thing. I reread my posts...and I was sort of hard on dcf. He brought a lot to the forum. His problem is that he is in denial about what putting his label on others' work and not citing others' work does to his credibility. He could do what he does and get a lot more traffic, and be more successful...if he gave a damn who he gave credit to. Oddly, though, seems he gave a lot of credit to BB, likely because of their relationship.

Hopefully, like others, dcf will get a 2nd chance. I know it doesn't count (and I haven't a clue as to what he did). But life is short and we all make mistakes.

Cowboys fans are classy. They have forgiven me in the past. That's all I'm saying. We all get passionate about stuff. And I haven't been on here much; I had to take a diversion from this season because it got depressing on top of some other things I was going through.

Lord knows we're only human. We go through our personal lives all the while trying to stay level-headed about a losing team with winning potential.

Yeah, it's frustrating.
