Bryan McCann

Well I thought Scandrik also had a decent game he played the corner rout very well and knocked away a TD pass he also come up on the run and made some nice tackles on the game. I'm not looking to bench guys right now as much as I'm looking for guys to improve their games. I still think there is a chance to scandrick to develop into a good player for us.

He made more plays than usual, but just like the TD on him, Manningham left him in the dust.

I'm not saying Scandric is all pro what I am saying is before I give up on a player I allow that player to develop. Scandrick has made mistake I don't deny that at all but he has also shown abilities that make me think he can become a better player than he is now.

When they brought him up, all I wanted was him to take some of those high risk/high reward type plays the defense sorely needs.

Go for the ints, the strips, etc. Don't just try not to get cut, try to earn that spot.

I'm glad to see he was willing to do that. That int/td will be strong on the minds of the coaches when they are doling out reps and deciding who to draft/sign in the off season.

He did a great job on that play knowing with the Giants running trips right that his man would be running the quick slant and got position to cut off the slant leading to an easy int.

With our luck in some games this season, he would have been called for pass interference, giving the Giants a first down at the 1.

We've got a strong corps. Did you see that catch RW made down the sideline? Buttery soft hands, just like he's known for. His confidence is up and it's great for the team.
Absolutely I did. On 3rd and 22 no less. I'll even go one step further and say this - did you see that catch by Marty? Very nice.

Hard to argue that. I think because he was decisive in making the read and moving up quickly he was able to avoid the call going against him

The kid played great. Imagine taking it 101 yards on your first play! Great job!

I think Scandrick looked better yesterday because we played a lot of zone. When he is in man he is just lost. I am not giving up on him but I sure would like someone to step up and play better than him in the slot because we get beat like a drum when he is man up on a guy.

If we continue to play more zone there is a spot for him but not in man. I have not seen a bit of improvement since his rookie year in coverage.

I think that's exactly the kind of assumption that leads people to be disappointed when a guy turns out to be sort of average and wonder "how come this guys didn't turn into Darren Sharper?" He might never turn into "a playmaker" and return pics for 100 yards every week but hopefully he can fill in in nickel and dime situations, play good special teams, and catch balls that hit him in the hands. That ought to be good enough.

Thats exactly how i feel.

I wouldn't mind, at all, if he just turns out to be a solid #3 corner so that we can get Scandrick off the field.

I've never been more disgusted by a defensive back on the Cowboys in my whole life. If McCann can just replace him on the field I'll be thrilled.

Another guy who stepped up and made a big play to seal the deal was Alan Ball. His int was another example of seeing the play and making the correct read and getting in the proper position to make the play. Ball has taken allot of heat and rightfully so but if people are going to give him heat for bad plays then they should be willing to recognize a very good job as well.

Yep. Alan Ball FINALLY stepped in and made a read, and a play, like I'd hoped he'd be doing back there. I hope he winds up making some more plays down the stretch.

True and in all fairness Nicks made some sensational catches out there as well even with tight coverage on him.

yes he did. He's amazing. He was my favorite WR coming out of that draft and it was because he could make plays like that 1 handed grab he made in front of Newman that was just stupidly over his head.

Hard to argue for it or against it?

I have to commend the Giants on a pretty good group of receivers...and they were producing impressively yesterday as well.

Showing some stuff yesterday with that 101 int-td. He had some mistakes after that, but its great to know that in a year or two if he continues to develop we will have a playmaker in our secondary.

"Droid Does"

AND

"McCann Can"
