1. Dez Bryant and Tony Romo practice have only been a practice field together a handful of times since the end of the 2014 season to injuries and Bryant’s contract hold out last summer. Although they tried to get some time together before trying camp, the rust between the two showed during the first padded practice of training camp. The timing was off. So much so that Romo and Bryant did not connect on a single pass in 1-on-1s, 7-on-7s or the team drills probably for the first time since Bryant was drafted in 2010. Neither player seemed to worried. Romo said they have played enough together to know that the timing will come.

2. Bryant was rusty and struggled catching the ball. Again for him to be shut out of a single catch in practice was shocking. But an example of Bryant’s growth is that he didn’t get emotional and frustrated in practice. There was a little trash talking with Morris Claiborne but nothing over the top. But Bryant is more focused on getting in shape, getting his body right so he can run all day and return to beast mode as he said.

Not totally unexpected. Dez is coming back from a significant foot injury, he frankly got very practice time in all last year, and he is shaking of rust.

Give it a couple more days, a week at most, and they Romo-Dez connection will be back.

For most quarterbacks the wheels begin to come off in the mid-thirties but relax nothing to see here

The good thing is that Bryant is not complacent. He has been reportedly staying after practice for extra work and jug machine.

Oh nooooooozzzzzzzz................... Bryant isn't very good!

Why is it that in these early practices if a guy is dinged up or looks rusty its always no big deal. Yet mention that a guy looks good on a play or two and all of a sudden he is going to have a great year or the rookie is going to have an impact?

Either these practices dont mean jack or they do. Cant have it both ways. Personally I think they dont mean jack unless its injury related.

I said before it could be mid season or later before dez is back to where he was in 2014, maybe longer.
Tony did not play much last year so he needs to get back int the groove too when it comes to passing.'
Again best to wait and see what they look like in PS.

Might be a good idea to play them more in PS, instead of the usual 2-3 possessions.

6'1, 222lbs. Caught 15 TDs in his last 2 seasons of college. Just an intriguing pickup. The Cowboys saw fit to give him the maximum UDFA bonus ($15,000). I'm just hoping there's something there to work with.

Yah, for many years I have gotten a little excited about some young UDFA receiver and then dont seem to pan out.

It'll be on Sportscenter now. Dez is not the player he used to be.

Maybe teacher Jason and principal Jerry should keep them after practice to work things out.....:muttley:
