How long will you grasp to the one 12-4 season as a sign of success? 12-4 was an exception, not the rule. This is a .500 football team over the last decade. That is not solid, it is called mediocre , average , middle of the pack, etc. You may not care about standards, but you should.

How long? Until a healthy team proves to me they are indeed a .500 team.

8th best record from 2005-2014 is mediocre, middle of pack when by that record, they aren't middle of pack.

2005: 9-7
2006: 9-7
2007: 13-3
2008: 9-7
2009: 11-5
2010: 6-10
2011: 8-8 this team could win the next 10 sb and i'll always be pissed this team didn't win 11 games.
2012: 8-8
2013:8-8
2014:12-4

That equals a record of 93-67 over 10 year stretch. You call it mediocre, middle of pack, I call it a damn GOOD stretch. A stretch I would've killed for in 86-90!

No offense, but if we're calling 4 playoff appearances in 10 years a good stretch...we have stopped being the Dallas Cowboys. We're the Browns.

The Browns would kill to make the playoffs ONCE.

They would be thrilled if they were thought of as being anywhere close to what the Cowboys are. They aren't.

Literally speaking, you are correct. What I meant was, we are a formerly legendary franchise, a team once accustomed to regularly competing for championships, now relegated to the occasional playoff appearance.

I don't watch espn but when you have as many players as they have for the last few years that are suspended and you are really popular and four of your players are in the top ten in jersey sales take that along with espn's normal dislike and jealousy it what you get I have learned that you will never get a favorable out look of the dallas cowboys from them so like I said I don't watch

Uh...how far the so called star has fallen. Profit wise, it hasn't one bit. Fanbase wise, it hasn't.
Just imagine the worth of the franchise if we would win. Just saying the cowboys are wildly successful with a nearly .500 record the last 20 years.

Cowboys fans are overly sensitive. If the Cowboys were on the rise, there would be specials about that. I remember a "Who is Romo" special promoted by ESPN - this after Romo took over for Bledsoe and started having success.

It seems like many fans forget what's going on. THE COWBOYS SELL!!!

In good times and in bad.

When we have great talent and when we have sorry talent.

We had 20 years (I believe) of having a winning record. We've had 20 years of futility based on what our traditional standards have been (NFC Championship appearances and Super Bowl appearances).

Okay, so ESPN is doing a special on "The Fallen Star." So what? I'll watch.

Fans who get all bent out of shape over this have amnesia and forget why ESPN or any national sports network does stories like this about the Cowboys. Love them or hate them, you still can't get enough of them. :starspin:

Cleveland has never been a legendary franchise and has been to the playoffs twice since 1989 losing their last appearance in a wild card game in 2002, 14 years ago.

Cleveland was a legendary franchise in the 50's and 60's. Nobody remembers that now because it's irrelevant.

I stand corrected. Cleveland was never good, and we are still amazing.
