1. Takkarist McKinley, DE, UCLA
2. Akhello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
3. Demarcus Walker, DE, Florida St.
4. Xavier Woods, SS, La Tech
6. Jeremiah Ledbetter, DT, Arkansas
7. Michael Rector, WR, Stanford
7. Cethan Carter, TE, Nebraska

Mixed bag for me with this draft.

Still have a problem with McKinley's availability and Walker's fit. Ledbetter is an athlete who just does not show up enough. Witherspoon is a player a like, but not really sure he is in the top 75 players.

But Xavier Woods would be a steal. Not a fan at all of the other day three picks.

Not the direction I would go, but I could probably live with it. There would be a logjam at 3T/SDE though with Walker added in to the current group.

The whole DL roster seems like Collins, Mayowa and a clump of 3-Techniques and left ends. I don't see what adding Walker would do for the mix.

Counting on Witherspoon to be a starter...don't think so.

Not saying he is bad but I much prefer his teammate in that role, but whatever CB we draft has to start.

Maybe preparing for 2018? Seems like at that point they might be losing Crawford, Thornton, Lawrence and Paea. That's really the only reason I see carrying another 3T/SDE on the roster that's not a huge upgrade over what they have. Would probably be a waste since there's several of those guys available every year.

Every time I see the name Ledbetter I think of Jerry Clower

Is it even possible to carry 3 rookie d lineman?

Mayowa, Lawrence, Irving, Crawford, Paea, Collins, Thornton, Tapper, Takk, Walker, Leadbetter...1 doesn't make the team and 1, if not 2, wouldn't dress.

-don't like Takk
-Love Witherspoon but I question if he tackles well enough for our coaching staff
-like Walker as a prospect but he's a bit redundant to what we already have
-don't know anything about Woods, but I hope we grab a S sooner
-leadbetter seems like a Marinelli guy

It is if you are not concerned about "progress stoppers" for mediocre talent and full DL meeting rooms.

We only have so many resources (especially with our refusal to sign FA's) and so many roster spots. The "throw something at the wall and hope it sticks" method doesn't seem reasonable.

Who are our progress stoppers anyway? Crawford and Lawrence? Like it or not they are still our highest potential guys as well...sadly.

What you saw there is Joe Fan force feeding defensive players who he thinks can help rightnow without any consideration for value over the players careers.

You know you're in for a real steamer when a mock is described as revamping a particular area of the team. These people know nothing about how to properly approach a draft.

Blog that, boys.

Imo we will most likely draft one Dlineman and its likely a RDE unless somebody really fell into our lap.I can see them drafting 3 DBs a TE and a WR.

Takk will be available by the start of the season at the latest and possibly even the start of camp. I could see him fighting his was on to the field in camp.

So if this was our draft, our top 3 CBs would be Brown, Scandrick and Nolan Carroll? LOL.

How many impact offensive players did we pass up to fill the defensive quotas?

Can't we find a 1st round pick at the local hospitals for crying out loud?!?!?
