Rod's a guy who is developing impressively and improves every time he gets into a game. .

I agree, I think when Zeke is eligible Smith will be the FB and take some of the Marion Barber role to pound defenses when they get tired.

When Zeke is out I think he gets the FB reps and rotates in with DMC and Morris. I think we carry all four guys this year and all of them get significant reps.

No , you keep DMC, he ran hard and finished off his runs against the Colts. Keep Smith, and if needed Morris if Zeke misses any games.

Id love to say keep Morris but he did the same thing last year in the preseason then went to crap when real football started. Really not sure who to make a case for between the two of them but I prefer to keep Smith over either.

Nope. Smith is a feel good preseason story. Let's not get carried away. Sure he might get a very very few number of carries when Zeke is out but that will be the extent of his contributions on offense.

Smith may be ahead of Morris, so he will get his opportunities. Especially if Zeke is out any games. Only way Morris is ahead of Smith is the comfort level from the coaches.

no rod smith is running on scrubs. He isnt very good against a starting defense, thats why hes been a fb

No they wanted him at FB last year as a way to make the team and to keep him. Keith Smith beat him out at FB so he moves back to RB this year, and dropped the 15 pounds he added. Running against scrubs, not so fast there, he has run against 1st and 2nd team guys as well.

I think what hes doing out there will translates well vs starters. I imagine we will find out soon. Id also note that if hes running against scrubs he likely has scrubs blocking for him.

McFadden has a hard time staying healthy, certainly Smith can break into the rotation

DMC has been healthy lately from a football perspective. His last year in Oakland he was healthy, his 1st year in Dallas he was healthy.
A freak fall at a pool, was his reason for missing games last year. And he was healthy to return, but they chose to hold him out for as long as they could, until needed. He finished the season healthy.
People need to get over this.

in what game? in all games Smith has been the last rb in the game. nobody has kept starters in that long.

Sadly they won't have to make that decision til after week 7.

Yes...maybe. I think Zeke's suspension gets cut in half. I see a 3 game reduction and when he comes back, I HOPE they do the right thing and cut Morris. I like him, but he isn't as good as DMC or physical as Rod. Plus, he isn't good out of the backfield, which someone already mentioned. We will BLUDGEON teams with Zeke, DMC and Rod. That will be the most punishing and effective trio in the game I'm telling you guys. It's a no brainer to me. They will owe AM some money, but so what? Rod and DMC don't make diddly so it evens out IMO.
