yes, you might want to start going again in a few years

You know..

I've never ever stopping being a Cowboys fan.

Never ever.

Not at 1-15 or 13-3 or whatever we were in 2007..

but right now I'm at a crossroads with what is going on.

Either all of this stuff is Made For TV drama like Duck Dynasty..

or its like Let's Make A Deal.with this Jones Family starring.

I know that, and you will probably want to go again in the future,(hopefully there is a reason to) ... don't give up the tickets.

Just sell them for a while if you don't want to go.

I'd bet that there isn't an owner in the league who isn't more concerned with making money than with winning. Actually, I'd bet Jerruh puts more money and effort into building a winning team than a lot of others. Of course, lots of moves haven't worked, but people need to realize that owners have no obligation to fans, and don't generally care about them.

Jerry is no different than any other owner on the competition committee. Only difference is that his entire family is constantly getting interviewed because he was intelligent enough to build the Cowboys as a brand while other owners have failed to do that.

Making money and making money via tackiness are the issue.... In the end, people come because of football. Further, the Cowboys brand was already established before the Jones family, which is why this article is talking about selling based on legacy.

uhh no what

You're going to sit here and tell me owners care more about winning than making money? No way I'll ever agree with that.

Very rarely does a winning football team lose money... In fact, I don't think I ever heard of it. You think there were this many Patriot fans when they were sucking. They rose right to the top financially because of winning.

Red - Ironic you mention this because I'm a contestant producer on Let's Make A Deal and ratings are driven by the psychological desire of people wanting to see other people risk everything to win a brand new car or $30,000. That's what our polling tells us.

Jerry would think it's the cool costumes people wear.

I guess eventually it will catch up with the Joneses. They're making money by marketing on the legacy and past glory, but as time marches on there won't be fans still alive that remember the "good old days". Eventually they will have to field a successful team and not just a successful brand as it becomes more difficult to attract new fans to a losing team. I guess the future Jones heirs can always market the team like the Chicago Cubs do and the Cowboys will simply become the "lovable losers" because America loves an Underdog. Instead of "America's Team", we will be known as "America's Underdog" and the Official slogan will become "just wait until next year". Maybe we can get Steve Bartman to become a WR Coach or have a goat curse us.

The are the one of the most valuable franchises in all sports. They were bought for 160m and are now worth over 3b. They have a brand new stadium, which they own. They also have 3 Super Bowl titles and are consistently fighting for or going to the playoffs. All the children are college educated and have been with the team for decades. It's OK for the Rooneys, Maras, Irsays and others, but not the Cowboys. Your assessment is a way off.

So if they were so qualified, how about they go out and get jobs on their own without dad's nepotism? How many franchises would hire this girl as their "brand consultant"?

My guess? None.

Oh my..

haha..

What an interesting occupation.

I've always loved live TV stuff.

Marveled at the organization, technology and creativity that goes into it.

Awesome for you.

My prayers to you that it takes you where you want.

Doing that stuff is like having the keys to open a door most of us can't imagine.

Later.

This is a sickening article.

Why can't these people just go away and shut up.

What other team is constantly referred to as a brand and not a team.

These people are constantly saying brand brand brand.

All they care about is money and selling their next worst idea to the fans.

Uggh sickening.

You still consider yourself a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. This is your team. I'd say the Jones family is doing a great job. You come to this site because you care. Face it, you love the Cowboys! So do I.

The Cowboys; the brand; it's not sickening. It's habitual. It's a love for a team that will never die, winning or losing.

That makes zero sense. Why leave the franchise you are set to inherit after putting in years of service to start over with a company that competes with your family? Every team has a marketing division, along with dozens of other jobs. Nepotism runs rampant in sports and getting upset because Jerry's daughter runs the marketing of the team is beyond silly. BTW- the Cowboys took in over 550m in revenue last year, so someone is doing something right.

I think Obama should appoint his daughters to be Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense. Michelle should be Vice President.

For a long time I have been in favor of all teams being run like the Packers--with a board of directors, president, gm, and fans holding a real stake in ownership.

Currently, the NFL outlaws these types of ownership structures--the Packers were grandfathered in.

The NFL has it exactly backwards; ownership by fans should be encouraged, not discouraged.

As a result, I couldn't feel less like I own a part of the Cowboys; I couldn't feel more disenfranchised.

I feel like a mere observer of a rich family's hobby.

That used to be oh so true, but now, .. it is dying.

And it's not because of the winning or losing.

It's resentment for what they have done to my team / franchise.

I don't recognize what I see, and I don't like what I see.

This quote alone made me fall on the floor laughing….I think the full quote was "You're on charge of the brand, and whatever you do, just don't tarnish the star, That's your father's job" or "your father is in charge of that" LOOOOL

Tell yourself whatever you want. The jones family has done a tremendously bad job.

They have ruined a once great organization.

So true! But Jerry says it's a great show! And that should be enough for every Cowboys fan. :p
