moore will be put on the PS not because he help Dak but because in case of disaster they know him, he knows the system.
Rush will eventually be traded down the road, much like the patriots have done. then we look for the next one
till then he's the backup.

What did we base Dak on? When I saw Dak play in Seattle I knew we had something special. I believe the same thing with Rush.

I'm not saying he's not impressive.

I think we may have found a couple impressive defensive ends as well, I hope at least.

I predict that if Dak has one Romo-esc bad game 3-4 interceptions. A lot of fans will be clamoring for Rush to play...

Dak's 2016 preseason vs Cooper Rush:

Someone should send an Uber to bring KM to DFW International Airport tonight. :D

I mean, we have to feel great about Dak and Coop at this point. Cut KM and use that roster spot on a player on even the waiver wire that can help us on defense (specifically the MIKE position).

I hate to kick a player when he's down but there is absolutely no reason to have KM on our roster anymore. If we need a vet QB to mentor Dak or Coop - Wade Wilson and Red himself can do it. Besides, if Dak goes down for any stretchI trust Coop to hold down the fort until Romo is in game shape and ready to play. ;)

Okay, Jerry, remember when the writing was on the wall that you should draft a high quality lineman instead of Johnny football. You made the right choice and it helped to make the team better. This is one of those times. The writing is on the wall that this Cooper Rush will give us a way better chance to win than Kellen Moore. I understand that Moore is well liked and has studied hard to learn the offense. However, as Tony Romo himself said, the NFL is a meritocracy. Rush as earned the backup QB spot. Moore hasn't. It it would be helpful to still have Moore around, then either stash him on the practice squad (he'll clear waivers) or make him a coach.

Yes, I know Jerry probably doesn't come here to read posts, but I just had to spill my guts. To me it's obvious that Rush is the guy. He's the most capable backup available, better than Moore.

They'll put Moore on the opening roster - as a vested vet it guarantees his salary. Then when they cut him in week 2 he doesnt need to play elsewhere to earn his salary. Can be brought back quickly if Dak or Coop get injured.

Pretty simple.

If he is as impressive to other teams as he is to us...we only have 4 years with him. If year 3 rolls around and another team calls offering us a first...do you turn them down knowing he will leave for big
money in a season?

Maybe just maybe Dallas has put together a coaching staff that can excel at developing young quarterbacks.

I get what your saying 100% and agree with the concept. However at some point and time you have to have a serviceable qb2 to be ready. Guys like Kellen Moore, Matt Cassel, Brandon Weeden are garage and is why we picked 4th in the draft two years ago.

I always think you have to look at things like this, it is just a hard having to start over with developing a qb. Heck, other than Jon Kitna I can't remember the last decent guy we had at qb2 up until now.

Seattle threw everything including the kitchen sink at him and Zeke. They were impressive that day.

I don't care what reasons anyone gives me for keeping Moore over Rush-they will fall on deaf ears. He removed all doubt as to his being more than worthy to be Dak's backup. Most NFL teams would salivate to have such a talent such as his. He makes the right reads, calls the right plays, gets the ball out quickly & accurately to his receivers. He does all of these things innumerably better than Moore ever has in his life. The fact that Dallas has put these two great QBs on their team is incredible, to say the least. To have one is a blessing. Two is ridiculously lucky. Question though: Would anyone be willing to trade Rush to the Browns for DE Emmanual Ogbah & their earliest 2nd round pick in 2018, & keep Kellen Moore?

Why would you trade Rush, if he's a valuable backup? Garoppolo has been with the Pats going on 4 years, & they aren't in any hurry to trade him. A quality NFL QB doesn't grow on trees. If they eventually find someone almost as good, I could see trading him for a top draft pick, but that's 4-5 years down the road. Let's just enjoy the ride, shall we?

Cooper Rush is the real deal...i mean anyone that can make Lance look like Rice is very special..

My hatred is toward Collins for taking away one of the best catches and throws from Dak to T-Will ever....not to mention the first down to Cole earlier.
It's preseason. The catch and throw happened regardless of penalty.
