They didn't overpay TWill at all. A very club friendly contract. There is plenty of money for all 6 WR's.otherwise the FO is not going to be happy with the salary used for WRs.
why serious FA $ for WR 4/5?They didn't overpay TWill at all. A very club friendly contract. There is plenty of money for all 6 WR's.
totally agree, just need some passrushThis team is stacked on offense. It's absurd.
Still wish they let TWill walk and just say Butler was the #2. Neither are rocket scientists but Butler is/can be more dangerous.
And had who else out there?
Butler! Not sure how this is tough to grasp for some. I am not a fan of TWill and I think Butler has more upside at the #2. Neither are my first choices but give me Butler over Williams.
Prediction: he's working for a payday this year and knows he can make some serious money off of the talent he is surrounded by. He has a Laurent Robinson type year and leaves to the highest bidder. He will be fun to watch this year.
Butler is here on a one year, $1.1 million "prove it" deal. He only had 16 catches on 32 targets last season. I've always liked Butler, too- he's a big, explosive downfield threat. However, even going back to his Raiders days, he has never performed on a consistent level. A big play every now and then, and then weeks of disappearance. I'm hoping he's finally putting it all together.
Now, a lot of the same can be said of Williams. However, he's back on a four year deal that pays him on average of just over $4 million annually. In today's NFL, that's a tremendous bargain for an experienced receiver.
Having both players on the roster for such a minimal cap hit is a tremendous thing. Especially when you consider the Cowboys' "number two" receiver is really the fourth option at best in the passing game after Dez, Witten, and Beasley.
Agree but I would have just gone with Butler and let Williams go elsewhere. If he did not pan out, then draft a true #2 and go from there. It is not like we don't have plenty of receiving options. I just did not like the idea of being roped in for four more years of TWill, I firmly think we have seen him at his best and that is not good enough IMO.
It's not serious money at all. You think TWill got serious money? With the salary cap what is at especially.why serious FA $ for WR 4/5?
defense needs the $
I didn't get it either.
It was a big drop.I thought the Brice Butler hate this offseason by some folks was one of the weirder offseason trends.
That drop really got people going.
Andre Gurode was a 6 time pro bowler.Brices problem is he's alway been a dumb player. Andre Gurode dumb!!
