News: BTB: Cowboys receiver Michael Gallup just might be the next Stefon Diggs

Gallup= a poor mans Jerry Rice. Smooth strider...people will see...and go...oh yeah....Now I see it. Been a while since JR was streaking across the field...

I think fans/media and maybe even a few NFL teams have become over-enamoured with really big WRs.

A 6', 200 WR (Gallup is 6'-3/4", 205) is bigger than the average NFL CB. Only a few CBs are significantly bigger.

Hopefully Gallup can be half as good as Jerry Rice and has his work ethic which will be difficult to replicate for anybody. With that said, I hope he enjoys the ride also.

There was a video out where Gallup was being interviewed before the draft. He was at the practice facility of his college.

They spoke for about three minutes. Dropped into the interview was a comment by Gallup that his 40 time was slow for what he normally runs. The interviewer said something about Ridley, who, IO think ran a 4.43 or something. Gallup said he runs that fast.

I would normally think this was a kid bragging. But his answers to the questions were kind of soft spoken and lacking any bravado that I could see.

I suppose we'll find out. But like Michael Irvin said when asked about his foot speed and his ability to get separation.

"I know where I'm going. The other guy doesn't."
 
In the video that was so popular to those who saw it on this website a while back, he was breaking tackles like there was no tomorrow. :)

It might take him a bit longer to reach his peak than someone like Hurns, who already has experience but once acclimated, he'll be terrific.

Diggs is quite good. Not elite, but very nice player. Diggs is tad faster and tad quicker. Gallup jumps better and has more explosion.

Diggs was 5th rounder so has outplayed his draft status. Can Gallup do the same?
